Advantages It actually works

Disadvantages None i can think of

I unfortunately have a few stretch marks due to weight loss and they get quite itchy and annoying. I have tried numerous creams, lotions and potions and none of them ever did anything to help the situation. Then one day I asked a Pharmacist in Boots what she would recommend and she brought Bio-oil to my attention, and I thank her for this.

I was a bit dubious at first as it costs around £10 for a 60ml bottle of the stuff, but it was money well spent. You can get it online however for a great price of £5.99 for 60ml at www.multipharmacy.com they also do two 150ml bottles for £20.

I apply it every night before going to bed, and although it does not get rid of my stretch marks it does make them fainter and harder to see, they fade away a good bit and don't itch at all anymore. I also have a scar on my tummy from an operation and it has worked it's magical wonders on it also. When using this you must apply it in a circular motion as this helps with circulation.

The box is bright white and orange in colour and not easily missed, so it's always easy to find in any chemist, such as Boots, Superdrug, Semi Chem, etc. It comes with a screw top cap, which is very good at stopping leakages, my survived a 10 hour flight in my suitcase and didn't spill onto anything at all. The bottle is see-though so you will know quite easily when you need to buy some more.

The box states:

SCARS: Helps reduce the appearance of both new and old scars by improving the condition of skin with scar tissue.

STRETCH MARKS: Helps prevent stretch marks during periods of rapid changes in body size, such as pregnancy, adolescence and weight loss. Helps reduce the appearance of existing stretch marks.

UNEVEN SKIN TONE: Helps reduce the appearance of pigmentation marks and blemishes.

AGEING SKIN: Helps smooth and tone sagging and wrinkled skin by helping to improve the skin's elasticity.

DEHYDRATED SKIN: Helps prevent against the drying effects of water and climate: lubricates and relieves dry or chapped skin.

DAILY SKINCARE: Can be used as a specialist intensive moisturiser, a soothing aftersun treatment or is ideal for use as a bath oil.

PREGNANCY: This can be used safely while pregnant - During pregnancy massage abdomen, hips and uppers thighs once or twice daily from the early months of pregnancy. Apply all over abdomen. Using gentle fingertip pressure, massage upwards towards your navel then outwards over your hips and continue for 5 minutes. Then working downwards from yournavel, gently massage sideways and upwards. Abdominal massage, combined with antenatal and postnatal exercises will be of great benefit in toning your muscles after delivery.

I have to say this is the wonder treatment I had be longing for for so long. I have tried it on stretch marks and scars, and I have to say 'it does exactally what is says on the tin (well bottle)'. I would agree also that it would be great for those of you with dry skin as it always leave mine feeling soft and subtle. It is great as an aftersun treatment - I took mine to florida and my skin loved it after a long day in the flodia sun.

This is a spoecialist skincare product and apparently the 'wonder ingredient' is a wonderful thing called PurCellin Oil.

"PurCellin Oil is a laboratory recreation of the preen gland oil of ducks. During preening, a duck secretes oil from its preen gland and distributes it over its entire plumage in the familiar twisted-neck action that one often associates with ducks. This oil creates a thin, non-greasy layer on the surface of the feathers without which water would not pearl off and the bird would struggle to swim."

The ingredients are as follows:

Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate on the label) helps improve the skin's elasticity, texture and tone.

Vitamin E - The most widely used antioxidant in skincare products today, Vitamin E increases the moisture content of the epidermis, thereby making the skin softer, smoother and more supple. Vitamin E also assists in the proliferation and maintenance of healthy skin.

Calendula Oil (Calendula Officinalis), more commonly referred to as marigold, has been used for centuries as a natural antioxidant and has the ability to clarify and condition the skin, while providing soothing and calming benefits for sensitive skin types.

Lavender Oil is widely known to have skin conditioning properties, and is also effective in calming and soothing the skin.

Rosemary Oil helps to invigorate and condition the skin, in addition to having calming and soothing properties.

Chamomile Oil has a calming and soothing effect and is particularly beneficial for sensitive skin. It also helps to condition and clarify the skin and assists in maintaining its natural health.

PurCellin Oil acts as a delivery system for Bio-Oil's other ingredients, dramatically improving the application and spreadability of the product, and allowing for targeted absorption into the skin.

Another great thing to note about this product is that it has a non-greasy formula. Once on it will not transfer onto or leave your clothes greasy or oily. It has a medically smell to it, but it's a surprisingly nice smell. You can use it anywhere on your body, including your face and is even great for those of you with sensitive skin.

I have had my bottle for a few months now and I still have some left, it seems to last forever because a little drop goes a long long way, so even though it is quite expensive you're not having to fork out the cash every week or so.

If you wish to visit their website for testimonials and how they created and tested this stuff you can visit it at: www.bio-oil.info. They have various language to choose from at the website, including English of course.

I would recommend this product to everyone, men, women and children alike. This is the best stuff on the market (well I think so). Now you can enjoy brand new skin :)
