I have got stretchmarks from weightloss aswell as scars on various parts of my body from self harming in the past, and have heard some really good things about Bio Oil and was also reccomended to try it by a good friend who told me she'd tried it on her stretchmarks during pregnancy and it was more effective than the cocoa butter she had used in her previous pregnancy and found that the bio oil seemed to prevent the stretchmarks from pigmenting into darker, more prominant stretchmarks.

As i don't have a huge amount of money spare, at £6 plus for a relatively small bottle, this is a luxury in my eyes (not a neccesity) so i waited until i had a Dooyoo Amazon voucher and then treated my self to a 200ml bottle which was £10.89 with free delivery. According to amazon, the RRP of a 200ml bottle is £20.37, so by buying online i saved £9.48 (47%). Smaller bottles are also available; 60ml (£6.87) and 120ml (£6.77).

My bio oil arrived and came in a little cardboard box which was very simple and basic, it's a white box with orange writing saying 'bio oil' in bold at the top and then various facts about the product on the bottom in smaller writing. It says that it is specialist skincare for:
- Scars
- Stretchmarks
- Uneven skin tone
- Ageing skin
- Dehydrated skin

I opened the box easily and put it in my cardboard recycling bin as i saw no use it keeping it. The bottle containing the oil is plastic and transparent, the reddy-orange liquid is visible and if shaked you can see how oily it is. The bottle is a rectangular shape with rounded ends and is around 5 inches long. The bottle has white writing on the front saying 'Bio oil' and a bit of info, and the back has instructions on how to use it etc and lists the ingredients, which consists of Purcellin oil, Calendula, Lavender, Rosemary, Chamomile, Vitamin A and Vitamin E, and says it's a natural solution to natural and unnatural skin problems.

The bottle has a white lid which twists off to expose the top of the bottle which has a little transparent rubbery plastic stopper in it with a small hole to ensure no oil is wasted by pouring too much out. To get the oil out i simply tip the bottle upside and shake it. After 2/3 shakes there is around a teapsoon full of liquid (i don't tip it in to a teapsoon though obviously so this is a guess!), once it is in my palm i smooth it evenly onto my scars. It feels quite relaxing and smells lovely as it is quite heavily perfumed. Once on the skin it leaves a smooth, transparent greasey and shiney layer which remains there for around 30 minutes. I wash my hands afterwards as it is so greasy due to been oil.

My results so far are not massive. After 3 weeks of daily use (twice a day), my scars are still prominant and my stretchmarks have not faded, however my skin does feel softer/less dry and overall i can feel an improvement. I am going to continue using it as most websites reccomend to use this oil daily for a minimum of 3 months before results are obvious, and in my friends case this oil was a huge help in preventing further stretchmarks.

It is expensive but does last a while and overall i am happy with my purchase. I would highly reccomend this, but as you can see it does require dedication, it's not a miracle product that will clear up your flaws within a few days and recquires long term application before you can expect results. Application takes literally 2 minute and i don't see any problem with the long term use, however for people who want to see instant results this is not the right product; process is gradual.

i agree with what you've said, it is expensive and it does make your skin lovely and soft. You posted this over a month ago, i was wondering if maybe since then you have had any more noticeable results? I started using it myself but then kept forgetting to apply it so decided to give up, i was wondering if there is any point in picking it up again?
