Advantages: Kerman is well-read and literate, so the story reads nicely, characters described well
Disadvantages: Piper's superior attitude gets quite annoying, not as gritty or exciting as the cover suggests

I'm always interested in reading non-fiction accounts of time spent in prison because, quite frankly, it is not a place I wish to see firsthand! Up until now, though, I've found myself getting a little aggravated with the narrator and their self-pity. Or ...
