Or Rather, Not Finding Amelia
Review of Finding Amelia - Ric Gillespie by DoubleFantasy11

Advantages: Informs without dictating
Disadvantages: Difficult to read (emotionally)

...would be her final takeoff. Finding Amelia aims to separate the facts from the mountains of fiction and piece together Amelia's final days as far as we can ascertain. Part of the fascination with Amelia Earhart is due to her status as a feminist icon, despite not being an unusually talented pilot. As Gillespie says: "Earhart's piloting skills were average at best, but good looks, good luck, genuine courage, a talent for writing... made her one of ...
...a challenge to others." Finding Amelia can be difficult reading at times, not least because of the amount of misinformation and lack of communication involved. That's the real tragedy: that if the numerous mistakes hadn't been made, there is a good chance that the rescue mission would have been successful. Amelia was blamed for all kinds of things that weren't her fault, such as rejecting a suggestion that she use lower radio frequencies - a suggestion ... Read review

Review of The Autobiography - Ryan Giggs by dazmufc

Advantages: a very very good read
Disadvantages: cant think of any!

A scintilating account of the dashing Manchester United winger loved by fans worldwide for his silky skills fast pace,oh if only he was English thousands have said! (me included),although he played for England schoolboys he couldnt play for England at a higher level because he was brought up in Wales till the age of 7 thus making him ineligible for further England honours.Surprisingly for Giggsy`s talent he has only won 52 caps not because of his ...
...player at Old Trafford since the start of the 1990`s making his home debut against Everton at Old Trafford. In his first Manchester derby he scored the winner in a 1-0 win.Ryan has shown loyalty to Manchester United in a era of the game when the word "loyalty" is very few and far between. This book gives his version of his memorable sucesses on the pitch through the robson and cantona times to THAT goal in the F.A Cup semi final against Arsenal which ... Hailey's Story
Review of Hailey's Story - Hailey Giblin by Samano42

Advantages: This is what biograhies should be like, very good read and hard to put down, but would read over and over again
Disadvantages: It is a true story, and cried through out most! Shame that it did'nt elaborate on taking Ian Huntley to court.

...was prepared to listen to Hailey's allegations -untill Soham! Hailey's decided to start a fresh, married and is trying to get Ian Huntley to court for what he did to her when she was eleven. I really hope she acheives this as the Justice Sytem could'nt... In light of making money, well i am sure that even if she sold a million copies of this book that would'nt be enough to compensate for what the poor girl experianced. Would definately reccomend. ... Handstands In The Dark - Janey Godley
Review of Handstands in the Dark - Janey Godley by weaholt

Advantages: Fantastically written with a gripping, true story.
Disadvantages: You can't put it down!

Handstands in The Dark is a fantastic book which takes you through a rollercoaster of emotions. You will not be able to put it down!! It became a No 3 best seller, winning numerous awards. Not bad for a first book!! The author of the book is a lady called Janey Godley, who is now a stand up comedienne. She was born in Glasgow in 1961, in the East End, which was quite a run down area. Between the ages of 5 and 13, she and her sister were sexually ...
...in which Janey tells of her fear during these attacks, pulls you as the reader into the room with her, you feel her fear and pain. Plucking up the courage to tell her mother was difficult, but she managed it somehow. The response could not have been predicted and Janey was threatened to keep quiet by her alcoholic mother. Janey was forbidden from telling her father and made to feel as if she was in the wrong. The only friend that she was able to ... Read review
