"IT"doesnt sound right.... Advantages: A cant put the book down read Disadvantages: Maybe a fictional? ...abuse and threatening behavior to a child by his drunken mother is one of sorrow and heartbreak. Dave tells of how his family was once a loving close family until his mother becomes a drunk in a short amount of time. What follows is Dave's account of survival. He tells of physical abuse at the hands of his mother, how she punishes him by starving him, feeding him poison, making him sit in cold baths for hours on end, making him eat vomit and excrement ... ...Dave survived things like not eating (surely he would be emaciated?) and his mother making him drink Amonia. If this is a completely true story, then I retract my statement of doubt. A Man named Dave Advantages: Very touching biography Disadvantages: Sometimes it can get to intimadating to read ...the abuse Dave had as a child it brings tears to your eyes to think that a mother could do something so gruesome and unhuman like to their own son. I find it truly comforting that Dave can speak of his abuse, I have read quite a few biographies where the authors have been abused but Dave Pelzers biographies are by far the very best. REAL LIFE AT ITS BEST Advantages: entertaining,funny and factual Disadvantages: none I loved this book. I think all of Imogen Edwards Jones books are very cleverly written. It gives you an insight into the way that an airport and airlines work with all the behind the scenes stuff added in too. At the same time it has all the characters of a fictional book that you just love and learn to warm to. I struggled putting this book down. I love the way that she writes with an anonymous writer too. Reading it is actually quite shocking. ... ...airport or how sneaky and devious some airlines are. It also gives you a few inside tricks to get upgraded on the plane.
