It's Insania!
Review of All About Us: My Story - Peter Andre by
KarenUK
Advantages: A good read, interesting, informative
Disadvantages: A bit too revealing at times!
...- and there is.
All About Us - My Story by Peter Andre is 274 pages long, so only takes a couple of days to finish and it is a good read. It never really got boring and is easy to get into and full of interesting information. I'm not sure if he wrote this himself or with a ghost-writer, but you can hear his voice coming through the words on the page.
I like Peter Andre. When he's being interviewed on TV with Katie, he seems to be able to control ... ...as an autobiography, this ticks all the boxes. You learn about Peter's childhood and family background. There are lots of great photos included. He writes in a frank and honest way and is not afraid to criticise himself and his behaviour. He reveals details of his previous relationships - including Scary Spice Melanie Brown and All Saints singer Melanie Blatt - but in a way which seems rather sweet and self-deprecating most of the time.
I was especially ...

Death in Jeddah
Review of Arabian Nightmare - Richard Arnot, Helen Chryssides by
hiker
Advantages: Another side of the story...
Disadvantages: ...but the truth remains uncertain
...sad, avoidable, accident. Arabian Nightmare tells the other side of that story.
Richard Arnot was the British surgeon who hosted the party in that second floor flat, with the fateful balcony. He lived there with his wife and two children. Richard and Penny had not had the happiest of marriages and the move to Saudi Arabia had been almost a last-ditch attempt to make it work. It was to prove a spectacularly bad idea ~ as instinctively they might ... ...the extent to which they would become embroiled in the ways and means of their temporary abode. When deciding upon the Middle East as their 'somewhere warm' to start again, they were both agreed that Saudi was too restrictive for westernised foreigners, and especially for women. Yet it was to Saudi they went.
For Richard, a surgeon tempted away from the crumbling NHS to a brand new hospital, life proved not to be all he'd been led to believe, but ...

Masterpiece by Archer
Review of A Prison Diary (by prisoner FF8282) - Jeffrey Archer by
gilmore
Advantages: Easy to read because in small sections
Disadvantages: Honestly can't think of any
...decided I would give it a try and read the first couple of days, (there is a different entry each day and each day is divided up into different time sections) after that I simply could put it down.
The book is extremely enlightening as to the conditions of an A category prison in this instance Belmarsh. For instance the fact that the prisoners are 'banged up' for more than 20 hours a day this came as a shock to me and another quite startling fact ... ...brought out in it that a prisoners meals for a day are prepared out of 1.20 per day. The outline basically follows Jeffery Archer’s day-by-day account of prison life. The reason that I found this book so captivating was that everyday had its own new and exiting adventure or new testimony of a fellow prisoner while still following a main story throughout.
The book is extremely well written and keeps your attention through out. I would recommend this ...

Ramsay at his best
Review of Gordon Ramsay's Playing with Fire - Gordon Ramsay by
colzieboy
Advantages: Informative
Disadvantages: None
People have the impression of Gordon as an arrogant, foul mouthed chef. However, this is the persona he adopts to achieve his goals successfully, and this read highlights how he has got there.
A follow on from Humble Pie, the book goes in to more depth on the business side of his life, where risks were taken to get where he is today. Lessons that he has learnt along the way are both informative and amusing. His plight to go from a well known UK ... ...What we do learn about Gordon is his passion to develop the people who have been most loyal to him. Angela Hartnett is mentioned a few times throughout the book, as it goes from him owning his first restaurant right through to his MNC Gordon Ramsay Holdings. Loyalty is shown to be a key factor in his life, and as he has progressed, so have the people who have helped him get there.
A great read and very inspiring! ...

Madonna - Queen of the world
Review of Madonna: Queen of the World - Douglas Thompson by
micksheff
Advantages: Well written, easy to read
Disadvantages: Nothing new, its all been written before
Madonna - love her or loathe her, it seems that everyone has an opinion about her. With a career that now spans over 25 years her rise to fame from the early days when she first arrived in New York, penniless but with huge ambitions has been well documented many times. Madonna - Queen of the world by Douglas Thompson could at first glance quite easily be dismissed as yet another regurgitated account of Madonna's rise to fame but from the sleeve notes ... ...that everyone claims to already know everything there is to know about.
Madonna has given many interviews throughout her life. Usually these interviews are carefully timed to coincide with her latest project, be it a new album, movie, book or other project and the new image that compliments the project is always flaunted to its maximum effect. When it comes to being interviewed Madonna always calls the shots, so how can anyone really expect to know ...
