Goodnight from me...
Review of And It's Goodnight from Him.... The Autobiography of the Two Ronnies - Ronnie Corbett by fish1es

Advantages: A great read, if you like his humour, you'll love this book
Disadvantages: Sad in places

...fan of the 2 Ronnies, and was gutted whenever Ronnie Barker died. This is the story of the 2 Ronnies, how they met, and their career in showbusiness. This is autoboigraphical in a way, it catalogues Ronnie Corbett's life, but soon, Ronnie Barker's presence takes over the story, and it seems more of a memoir than a biography. This book is written in a very conversational style, you can hear Ronnie's voice as he tells the story, and he paints some ...
...up to the present day, and paints a very different side of the 2 Ronnies than we have seen on TV. You see their lives offscreen and what sort of people they really were. This is an excellent tribute to Ronnie Barker, well written, and both laugh out loud and poignant. I did giggle through some parts of it, including some of the sketches that were included in full, and also some of the stories. Really worthwhile read for any 2 Ronnie's fan ... Read review

Richard- the brother of : "A Child called IT "
Review of A Brother's Journey - Richard B. Pelzer by christina44

Advantages: The true worth of a spirit. A Triumphant ending.
Disadvantages: The Horrors disadvantages and shame of Abuse

...yet another harrowing tale of a lost childhood..but as soon as I saw the surname "Peltzer "I knew I'd discovered someting precious yet so awful all at the same time that I had to have it. Just over a week ago,I saw this biography in the top ten best sellers on the shelves of Asda. It is a light book to handle and I wasn't expecting the rather short in comparison 18 chapter layout. After leafing through the front and back cover the afterword, and ...
...I feel the athourities in a position to help (and therefore surely- would care? -but didn't ) should have a copy of. The child support legal and law system, the police the social workers the doctors of medicine and Child psychiatry; all child workers and all school and college teachers in a position of trust should and ought to have a recognised version of this important book on their shelves to work on; learn from and learn well as part of an international ... Death in Jeddah
Review of Arabian Nightmare - Richard Arnot, Helen Chryssides by hiker

Advantages: Another side of the story...
Disadvantages: ...but the truth remains uncertain

...sad, avoidable, accident. Arabian Nightmare tells the other side of that story. Richard Arnot was the British surgeon who hosted the party in that second floor flat, with the fateful balcony. He lived there with his wife and two children. Richard and Penny had not had the happiest of marriages and the move to Saudi Arabia had been almost a last-ditch attempt to make it work. It was to prove a spectacularly bad idea ~ as instinctively they might ...
...the extent to which they would become embroiled in the ways and means of their temporary abode. When deciding upon the Middle East as their 'somewhere warm' to start again, they were both agreed that Saudi was too restrictive for westernised foreigners, and especially for women. Yet it was to Saudi they went. For Richard, a surgeon tempted away from the crumbling NHS to a brand new hospital, life proved not to be all he'd been led to believe, but ... Read review

Disadvantages: May be found quite hard going

Carla Van Raay's autobiography "Gods Callgirl" details the life of a naive, immature girl, then woman who is devoted to God but goes from obedient convent girl to sexual prostitute over the course of her life, but remains as naive as ever. This life story is divided into three parts and develops the tale of this Dutch girl's life over the course of the book. Genius or crackpot?

Advantages: Neil Warnock
Disadvantages: Neil Warnock

There are individuals in sports that only come around so often. People that get everyone talking whether it be how much they admire them or how much they dislike them; Neil Warnock fits this category perfectly. Controversy follows him everywhere, so it is fitting that he should produce an autobiography that i'm sure even those that hate him so much would be just a little intrigued to read. This is the story of one of english domestic football's ...
...humble beginnings in Sheffield through an unglamorous but respectable playing career to a managerial career littered with controversy, success and disappointment. The dream of the Sheffield born man and Blades fan was always to manage his beloved Sheffield United and this dream was realised.
