Coleen McLoughlin: Welcome to my world
Review of Welcome to My World - Coleen McLoughlin by louiseyd

Advantages: Cheap, fun and easy to read
Disadvantages: I want her life

I bought this book on a spur of the moment shopping trip, basically because I was interested to see how Coleen went from being a schoolgirl to a WAG in such a short space of time. I was amazed to read her story and see how down to earth she really was, even after being catapulted at amazing speed into the limelight. She was even thoughtful enough to come back to her book and update it with her wedding plans for the release of the paperback edition. ...
...quick life update, within which she includes girly pages with tips on make-up, fashion, nights out and quizzes, making it so much more like a diary. It is really easy to read and highly enjoyable to learn how down to earth she is and how she enjoys nothing more than snuggling on her sofa watching the soaps just like the rest of us. ... Little girl lost.... then found!
Review of Little Girl Lost - Barbie Probert-Wright & Jean Ritchie by sarahbarrow

Advantages: Shows a reverse perspective.
Disadvantages: Heartbreaking at times.

...six, makes this sometimes a little difficult to read and comprehend. ( I have a six year old daughter and the idea of her seeing the atrocities that the author did is heartbreaking to me). Amongst all the fear, desperation, hunger and complete and utter exhaustion is the story of the true hero's of this book……. The people. The true humanitarian feeling you get throughout the entire book is astounding, the people who have nothing and nowhere to ...
...a stranger, the people who fear for their homes due to the "invasion" of the English and like, who at a moments notice, will have someone "billeted" to them, ( this is what they called the refugees, after they were allocated a bed or home in the village they happen to come across) and show the refugees unforgettable kindness by providing a warm bed for the night and a delicious meal to boot. This book is full of sadness, and the stories of the complete ... Read review

Sir Bobby Charlton: Pride of England
Review of My Manchester United Years - Bobby Charlton by Jelboy

Advantages: Full account of life, family disputes, munich tragedy and world cup win.
Disadvantages: I paid high price - you wont.

I am not a Manchester United fan, I am a spurs fan and a passionate lover of football. I bought this book because I had a vague interest in his life and wanted to know more about the lives of one of the 1966 world cup winners. Sir Bobby charlton goes in depth into his accounts of the tragedy of Munich, recounts his memories of the Busby Babes, and through his book manages to actually take you through a timeline of British and European football from ...
...Newcaslte at a young age, his early football career, the heights of manchester United and the loss of a team in Munich. He recounts his stories of some of the greatest footballers e.g. Denis Law, George Best and Stanley Matthews, above all teaches us more about the lives of Duncan Edwards and other great footballers lost in Germany. He explains his sibling relationship with his brother Jack and the family problems he encountered in his life. Sir ... Read review

Ricky 'the Hitman' Hatton - Born to be 10 Stone
Review of The Hitman: My Story - Ricky Hatton by Jelboy

Advantages: In depth life account. Pick up knowledge of sport. Will want to watch him.
Disadvantages: If you have zero knowledge of him or the sport then not recommended.

...account of his life upto the starting events of the Hatton - Mayweather fight. For all those people who have watched Ricky Hatton I would advise you to start reading the book. He goes int ogreat detail about all his fights, his training regimes, his relationships, the problems he gets with Frank Warren, and also dabbles a bit in his love for football. I didnt watch boxing before I purchased this book. I bought it out of curiosity, and I can definitely ...
...had a good understanding of the sport, this is a must read because what these professionals must go through is audacious, especially the gruelling training and workouts. Ricky Hatton delivers his story with humour while exploring his journey to become the best 10 stone fighter pound for pound. From medals to belts I am pretty certain he has not left anything out. A good read from a hard working well respected athlete. It will make you love the sport. ... Read review

Eddie Guerrero Viva La Raza
Review of Cheating Death, Stealing Life (WWE) - Eddie Guerrero, Michael Krugman by Jelboy

Advantages: Complete homage to his life - everything you ever wanted to know is given.
Disadvantages: The book shows the rebirth of a man, however we know how his story ended.

Eddie Guerrero was simply one of the greatest entertainers of WWE. I never read before this book. It was the first book I bought with the intended purpose of reading it for leisure. For all wrestling fans this is a must read. There is no reason to not read this book. It provides every single detail of his life, family, sexual encounters, drugs, crises, several wrestling promotions. He was so personal in this book and it is a breath of fresh air to ...
...since Mick Foley. Although you may readd this book with empathy if you love him, many will be be able to step back and admire Eddie just through what they have read in this book, not what they have seen on TV. If you have never read a book about a wrestler, this should be the first. If you ever want to know what an excrutiating, exhilirating, emotional, and painful job wrestling can be you must read this. You wont believe half the things he did. ... Read review
