When Daddy comes home.. Toni Maguire
Review of When Daddy Comes Home - Toni Maguire by chezbabe101

Advantages: a true story
Disadvantages: sad but inspiring

...book is the story of when her dad comes home from prison after what he did to her... the years of abuse and torment. She had only just started to rebuild her life and relationship with her mother who did not believe that Antionette had been abused at all, when its all torn apart by her fathers homecoming from prison... back to her mother who can see no wrong in him at all, this being the time it was (60's) she stood by her husband as it was the way ...
...from the bottom of her saddened and miserable world to be a very successfull woman, I read the whole book over three nights and will read it again sometime soon. Definatly recomended.. You can buy When Daddy Comes Home in all good book shops, or cheaper on ebay.... ... Read review

An interesting read
Review of The Insider - Piers Morgan by ScottishWestie

Advantages: Scandals & gossip
Disadvantages: Too many political issues

...was he used to be the editor of the Daily Mirror & little else. This book, which is not written in a diary format, allows the reader to enter a world little of us have much contact with. You may read the end result every day, but Morgan's paints an interesting picture in the life of a newspaper editor. It starts off roughly around the time he was editor with the News of the World working with such people as Alistair Campbell & takes you through ...
...as Daily Mirror editor at the tender age of 28, which in its self is quite an achievement. The Mirror was (and still is) a mouth piece for the Labour Government so Morgan was always made privy to important information that people such as Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Alistair Campbell & the 'snake like' Peter Mandelson wanted the public to hear. His relationship with these people dominates the book, as does his strained relationship with Cherie Blair ... Read review

Killing Bono?
Review of I was Bono's Doppelganger - Neil McCormick by sallycinnamon78

Advantages: Hilarious, candid, intelligently written, tons of anecdotes.
Disadvantages: An air of desperation; an overly harsh dose of realism for wannabes.

...can be spirit crushing. This, I would imagine, becomes even more frustrating when you're life-long friends with one of the most famous men in the world. Neil McCormick, who in musical terms has had more unlucky breaks that I've had hot dinners, has coped with not achieving the star existence he envisioned for himself while watching his friend Bono become one of the biggest stars of the past quarter century. This wasn't an easy road for McCormick ...
...The only disadvantage I found here is that my sympathy with McCormick became stretched - I found myself wanting to shake the author occasionally, as he fails again and again to get where he wants to be. It is certainly brave to air your life's grievances in public, but this constant barrage of depression starts to grate, despite the humour. When questioned about this in an interview, the man himself says: "Thinking about myself as a young man was ... Read review

My personal veiws....
Review of Just a Boy - Richard McCann by crackpotjen

Advantages: Enjoyable and can keep you occupied all day
Disadvantages: A few chapters are not acceptable for narrow minded people

I have totally edited this reveiw. It is my first reveiw and noticed i can make it alot better and thanks to everyones suggestions, i have decided to edit it completely. This book is about a boy who, at an early age, loses his mother. She was the first victim of the Yorkshire Ripper. He and his sisters go and live at an orphanage until their father turn up and they go and live with him. In time, the boy grows up and has many experiances in life. ...
...can't talk about his mothers death as his father banished anyone ever talking about it. He's still trying to come to terms with his mothers death and has no one to talk to. However, he still manages to move on and this proves to others that life does go on. This book is avaliable at all good book shops. I got mine from WHSmith and is £6.99 ... Read review
