Girl with a One Track Mind
Review of Girl with a One-track Mind: Confessions of the Seductress Next Door - Abby Lee by sahm

Advantages: Interesting, easy to read
Disadvantages: Don't read if your easily offended

The blurb on the back of the book reads:- Abby Lee is smart, sassy, and perpetually single. Frustrated with her love-life, she's now looking for the kind of sex she's always wanted. This is the intimate diary of her extraordinary journey. Never one to turn down an opportunity - even if it does include the use of a whip, the thrill of the outdoors, or the involvement of a third party - Abby enthusiastically romps her way through a series of one-night ...
...in her sexual quest, Abby meets Blog Boy and begins to wonder: will she ever be able to give up the bed-hopping and finally settle down? I wasn't sure whether I would enjoy this book as I have read other erotic memoirs such as The Sexual Life of Catherine M and The Butcher, The Baker, The Candlestick Maker by Suzanne Portnoy. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Aby writes with extreme frankness so if you are easily offended, I would not advise ... Read review

Marymoose gets kinky!
Review of Confessions of a Working Girl - Miss S. by marymoose99

Advantages: It's certainly enlightening!
Disadvantages: Might offend some people.

Please note, Ciao's product description "Intuition is not some magical property..." is not for this book, thanks to Jesi for pointing this out! Introduction Conscious of the fact that my supply of books was starting to get a bit low, I picked some random books off the charity book list at work (for 25p each). Normally I check books out on Amazon first to see what they're about, but I took a chance with this one as it was in the autobiography ...
...my hard earned cash! Getting the book When I received "Confessions of a Working Girl" I took one look at the cover and thought "Chick Lit" (you can see the picture!). I'm not a girly girl I have to say, and rarely read the 'chick lit' genre, so I was initially a bit apprehensive. However, on reading the blurb on the back I was assured that it was a true story, so was fairly eager to get stuck in. The Book Itself The book is set ... Read review

A brilliant read
Review of Wasting Police Time: The Crazy World of the War on Crime - David Copperfield by SunnyJen

Advantages: Hilarious, offers real insight
Disadvantages: There is no sequel yet

A brilliant book which offers real insight into the life of a British Bobby. Although most of what PC Copperfield writes about is serious stuff, he has a really good writing style, a great sense of humour and I found myself laughing all the way through. The book is broken down into short anecdotes so you can read a crafty chapter at work or leave it in the downstairs loo for others to pick up, although I think the danger then will be that you don't ... A great family read
Review of Marley and Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog - John Grogan by ScottishWestie

Advantages: Humour, great story
Disadvantages: Sad ending

...The dogs name is Marley & the book takes the reader through the strains of teaching the new puppy all the important things a 'grown up' dog needs to know in life. The problem is Marley like most dogs prefers to think he is above all that & that humans need to be trained to suit his way of life, but they get there in the end despite his stubbornness. The book is American & although American humour doesn't always translate too well by the time it ...
...You soon get to know Marley pretty well, his love of life & all his idiosyncrasies; you also get to know the Grogan family who give an insight into their daily life too as Marley is growing up. It's full of ups & downs, including an unexpected miscarriage, this stupid dog as Marley is referred to, becomes a loyal companion when Jenny Grogan is recuperating. Later in life the family even have Marley acting for a local film crew, they always say never ... Read review

Madonna - Queen of the world
Review of Madonna: Queen of the World - Douglas Thompson by micksheff

Advantages: Well written, easy to read
Disadvantages: Nothing new, its all been written before

Madonna - love her or loathe her, it seems that everyone has an opinion about her. With a career that now spans over 25 years her rise to fame from the early days when she first arrived in New York, penniless but with huge ambitions has been well documented many times. Madonna - Queen of the world by Douglas Thompson could at first glance quite easily be dismissed as yet another regurgitated account of Madonna's rise to fame but from the sleeve notes ...
...that everyone claims to already know everything there is to know about. Madonna has given many interviews throughout her life. Usually these interviews are carefully timed to coincide with her latest project, be it a new album, movie, book or other project and the new image that compliments the project is always flaunted to its maximum effect. When it comes to being interviewed Madonna always calls the shots, so how can anyone really expect to know ... Read review
