Just a little bloke who drives cars on the telly?
Review of On The Edge - Richard Hammond by
kingfisher111
Advantages: very readable, honest and moving
Disadvantages: none
...a jet car, which occurred on 20th September 2006. When I saw that he had written a book about what happened and his road to recovery, I knew I was going to have to read it.
The first thing to say is that although you might find the book in the autobiography section of any good book shop, that is not really what it is. There are a couple of chapters which talk about his childhood and how he got the job on Top Gear but much of his thirty six years ... ...people saw the crash shown on TV they could hardly think he would survive let alone recover so well. That is what makes this book such a moving and involving read.
One of the things you really gain a sense of from the book is how close knit Richard Hammond's family is. His wife Mindy played such a key role in nursing her husband, his two daughters were incredibly brave when 'Daddy was poorly' and his parents, brothers and their families formed a ...

harryhcs
Advantages: Inspiring, Inspring, Inspiring
Disadvantages: You whant to read it again and again
If you don't know who Richard Branson is...don't panic, you will soon discover one of the world's greatest business men ever! This book has a gripping and most inspiring influence once you start to read it. This is not the type of book you read to get a theory in business, this is the type of book that will release the zeal to do business and the need to be great! Reading this book will most certainly inspire you to action. The start of such a massive ... ...no for an answer. It is fun and astonishing to experience the way this man's head works. Review of The Autobiography - Ryan Giggs by
dazmufc
Advantages: a very very good read
Disadvantages: cant think of any!
A scintilating account of the dashing Manchester United winger loved by fans worldwide for his silky skills fast pace,oh if only he was English thousands have said! (me included),although he played for England schoolboys he couldnt play for England at a higher level because he was brought up in Wales till the age of 7 thus making him ineligible for further England honours.Surprisingly for Giggsy`s talent he has only won 52 caps not because of his ... ...player at Old Trafford since the start of the 1990`s making his home debut against Everton at Old Trafford. In his first Manchester derby he scored the winner in a 1-0 win.Ryan has shown loyalty to Manchester United in a era of the game when the word "loyalty" is very few and far between. This book gives his version of his memorable sucesses on the pitch through the robson and cantona times to THAT goal in the F.A Cup semi final against Arsenal which ...

crackpotjen
Advantages: Enjoyable and can keep you occupied all day
Disadvantages: A few chapters are not acceptable for narrow minded people
I have totally edited this reveiw. It is my first reveiw and noticed i can make it alot better and thanks to everyones suggestions, i have decided to edit it completely.
This book is about a boy who, at an early age, loses his mother. She was the first victim of the Yorkshire Ripper. He and his sisters go and live at an orphanage until their father turn up and they go and live with him. In time, the boy grows up and has many experiances in life. ... ...can't talk about his mothers death as his father banished anyone ever talking about it. He's still trying to come to terms with his mothers death and has no one to talk to. However, he still manages to move on and this proves to others that life does go on. This book is avaliable at all good book shops. I got mine from WHSmith and is £6.99 ...

Feel the truth.
Review of Feel - Robbie Williams by
richb90
Advantages: Honest and entertaining.
Disadvantages: Might shatter some illusions
A friend of mine who's a Robbie fan recommended this me and although I like Robbie I'm probably not enough of a fan to have read it under normal circumstances without their insistence at what a good book it was. I must admit that they were right and not only is this an interesting and honest behind the scenes look at Robbie's day to day life it also offers an insightful account into the world of fame, celebrity and the media's (mis)representation ... ...in the know (if there are still any!?) Robbie was the 'funny' one from Take That who left before it ended to pursue a solo career. After a few singles he hit the big time with Angels and a string of hit singles and albums followed. An interesting subject in himself the book is really brought to life by Chris Heath, who's previous work includes 'Pet Shop Boys Versus America' (which seems a bit of a one sided contest if you ask me!) and writing for ...
