The story of my brutal childhood by Kim woodburn
Review of Unbeaten: The Story of My Brutal Childhood - Kim Woodburn by Rachael-X

Advantages: Interesting
Disadvantages: nothing

Kim Woodburn is best known for the being the bossy person on "How clean is your house? As you can guess by the title of the book it is about her Brutal childhood. Kim was bought up by her violent mother as her father was often away as he was in the Royal Marines. Kim was the second child, another daughter. Her parents made her feel that she had disappointed them from the start as she was not a boy (obviously they must have wanted a son). Her mother ...
...friend, they ended up having seven children together. Kim left home at the age of sixteen and went to live with her father, their relationship as father and daughter was not very good. By 1966 she was living in the house of a lady whose daughter was at drama school (this daughter played the role of Suzie Birchall in coronation street in the 70's and later went on to play Suzie Birchall in Coronation Street in the 1970. Later Kim had been encouraged ... Read review

Just another marilyn monroe book?
Review of The Assassination of Marilyn Monroe - Donald H. Wolfe by sarah24484

Advantages: The whole book, start to finish!
Disadvantages: There is none really unless you are a kennedy fan!!!

...understood who she was. From the first page of that book i was a hooked fan everything about her was so intriguing and the pictures in the book where truely amazing, at the age of 13 when maybe i should of wanted to be like the spice girls like most other girls my age i was classing marilyn monroe as a beautiful woman who after reading about her life i deeply admired. So 11 years on and i have to say iam still a great fan of the biggest sex symbol ...
...hers its her background and the on going struggle of her life and quest to find happiness that makes me a fan. After reading many books on her life and death and the mystery that surronds most of it i must admit i was getting a little bored of reading the same things over and over again most books on marilyn tend to tell you about her hard childhood and her mothers mental illness and the fact she was moved from foster home to childrens home untill ... Madness in France
Review of C'est La Folie - Michael Wright by Wisegirl

Advantages: Easy hilarious read
Disadvantages: none

The Author of C’est La Folie, Michael Wright has penned this true and very witty book based on his own real life French adventure. In the late summer of 2004 he left his comfortable existence in South London to begin a new life in rural France which included the purchase and renovation of a fifteenth century farmhouse and his transformation from townie to solitary country farmer on foreign soil. His only company to begin with was his long-suffering ...
...with the Daily Telegraph Newspaper and due to the success of his column the book was born. A childhood dream to have sheep and chickens, to make friends in a foreign language, have manly power tools and live abroad alone became a reality after eventually finding a suitably run-down property in the middle of nowhere, the nearest town being Jolibois (not likely to be found on a map). The name of the house La Folie which translated means madness or ... Read review

Feel the truth.
Review of Feel - Robbie Williams by richb90

Advantages: Honest and entertaining.
Disadvantages: Might shatter some illusions

A friend of mine who's a Robbie fan recommended this me and although I like Robbie I'm probably not enough of a fan to have read it under normal circumstances without their insistence at what a good book it was. I must admit that they were right and not only is this an interesting and honest behind the scenes look at Robbie's day to day life it also offers an insightful account into the world of fame, celebrity and the media's (mis)representation ...
...in the know (if there are still any!?) Robbie was the 'funny' one from Take That who left before it ended to pursue a solo career. After a few singles he hit the big time with Angels and a string of hit singles and albums followed. An interesting subject in himself the book is really brought to life by Chris Heath, who's previous work includes 'Pet Shop Boys Versus America' (which seems a bit of a one sided contest if you ask me!) and writing for ...
