Robs bumpy ride to the top, in book form

Advantages: Some amusing anecdotes, lots of detail about his early work, generally interesting, relatable
Disadvantages: A bit bland at times/not quite as engaging as other biogs, no mention of more recent projects

A diverting read - esp. good for cult 80s/90s fantasy film fans

Advantages: Quite readable, entertaining and touching in parts, good amount of (both colour and b&w) photos
Disadvantages: More about his life away from his movies & input from relatives would have been nice, no index
