Oh dear - I'm going to sound like a party-pooper again. I was offered this book to read by a well-meaning friend, and read it on his recommendation. The reason he thought that I would like it is that I was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and published the diary i kept during the first year after my diagnosis (It's called The Purple Butterfly, if anyone is interested). Advantages: Intriguing, gives an insight into the geisha world
Disadvantages: Occasionally stilted, author bias is pronounced.

I saw The two of us my life with John Thaw advertised and as i am a fan of John Thaw i had to go out and buy the book for myself. I bought the hardback book at £16.99 and a few weeks later it had dropped in price. I read my life with John Thaw by Sheila Hancock in a few days as i couldn't put the book down.
