Advantages: Remove dust and unpleasant smells from rooms. EXCELLENT.
Disadvantages: Filters are difficult to purchase, but not impossible.

...I bought the Bionaire BAP242 Compact Air Purifier with Ioniser in 2005, and I have just bought another which is why I am writing this review. It's an excellent product, and serves it's purpose brilliantly. After a few hours of use, you can feel the difference in the quality of the air. I find that it works best in a room where the door is closed. There are many reviews which state that the air purifier does not do what it's supposed to do, I beg to differ. It just needs to be used correctly (that is, in the correct area of the room, etc). The filters, which need to be replaced every 6-12 months, can be purchased over the telephone (the number is in the instruction guide), or from various sites online. Highly recommended product.... ...The Bionaire BAP 615 is an excellent air purifier. After having it on for just a few minutes when I bought it, the air was noticeabley cleaner and cooler. The Bionaire BAP615 works with a 2 stage filtreation system. Air enters the purifier through the grills in the front, where dust and other large particles are immediately caught by the carbon filter. Air then passes through to the HEPA filter where 99.9% of bacteria, dust and other airborne alergens are filtered. One thing that I did find is that the Carbon filter (costing about £6) needs changing regularly, about once every month, even though the manual and product description both say it only needs changing on an average of 3 months. The HEPA filter can last anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending on how much the purifier is used. I have not had the filter for more than 6... Read review
