Advantages: sensationally clean skin and pores dramatically reduced in size Disadvantages: a little pricey but a little goes a long way
...Although the contents of the tube are rather firm, I find putting a little of the skin refiner on one palm and using a finger to smooth on the face does the trick. Only a small squeeze is needed but the effect is quite dramatic. I love the warming sensation and the fact that the refiner is smooth and easy to apply (unlike some exfoliants that are rough and difficult to apply). The effect was beautifully smoothed skin, clearer and noticeably smaller pores. I do have large pores that can become blocked but using this product every other morning has made a huge difference to the appearance of my skin and how easily I can apply foundation. My pores seem to stay more closed too, whereas I could was my face and have them quite taught in the morning to get in after work and find a mass of craters on my face! ...that I do not use Clinique products for the 3-step care as I find the soap too drying & the clarifying lotion 'burns' my skin! I would suggest that any decent products designed for these purposes would work just as well, so long as you use them twice every day.
Anyway, after following the "3-steps", I applied the serum sparingly in the problem areas. Clinique claims:
"(A)...lightweight lotion that immediately and over time minimises the appearance of enlarged pores due to excess sebum production or from aging and the breakdown in the collagen lattice.
Benefits
Minimises appearance of pores over the long term by repairing collagen structure around pore wall. Immediately minimises the appearance of pores. Exfoliates dead skin cells to prevent future clogging and prevent build-up."
Well, that's a tall order to live up to! I can't comment...
