Going through a period of mild addiction to ciao and not even trying to do something about it. Actually, I quite like it. Makes me feel sort of creative, I guess.

So I thought I’d tell you about one more product from my beauty box. The good thing is – now if you need to know about a complete beauty routine that combines a few Biotherm products, you can find it by reading my reviews. THE BIOTHERM STORY

Actually, I decided to write a bit more on Biotherm itself today. Just a few curious things. So once upon a time, about 50 years ago, in the beautiful mountain of France, a biologist discovered a unique element in the mineral-rich spring waters that does wonders to the skin, soothes, balances and rejuvenates, so the skin looks and feels healthier and becomes more beautiful and radiant.

The Biosource Lotion I am going to tell you about is created for normal/combination skin. However, if your skin is different, Biotherm has a few other choices including softening lotion for dry skin (pretty pink bottle) / Biopur matifying lotion for oily skin (light blue) / Biosensitive mist for sensitive skin (comes in a white bottle with a light green lid) / Hydradetox lotion for dull skin (transparent bottle).

My Biosource Clarifying Lotion for normal / combination skin comes in a light green bottle with white lid that resembles a petal or a large pebble – let your imagination run wild now. J

I guess, you can also find some independent stockists selling Biotherm on-line but I prefer buying it from well-known places. In my case, everything comes from Boots.

WHY IT IS SO GOOD FOR YOUR SKIN

Enriched with essential minerals and trace elements, the toner helps to achieve perfectly clean skin by removing the dirt from the deep skin layers that cannot be done by the cleanser alone. It also works as “a biological exfoliant ridding the skin of impurities and dead skin cells revealing a brighter and healthier complexion”.

HOW TO USE IT

Use morning and evening after cleansing your face to prepare the skin for a moisturiser.
Soak a cotton pad with toner.
Apply to the face from the middle outwards.

Active ingredients: trace minerals / witch hazel plant extract

Water, Alcohol Denaturate, Butylene Glucol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenohyethanol, Sodium Chloride, Propylene Glucol, Magnesium Gluconate, Benzoic Acid, Methylparaben, Potassium Chloride, Fragrance, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA, Ethylparabe, Butylparaben, Glycolic Acid, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylphenyl, Methylpropional, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Hydrohyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carbohyldehyde, Citronellol, Decyl Glucoside, Geraniol, Hydrocitronellal, Copper Glutamate, Hamamelis Virginiana/ Witch Hazel, Green 5, Manganese Gluconate, Ci 10140 / Yellow.

I haven’t found any information on whether the product has been tasted on animals or not but I suspect they wouldn’t to be in peace with nature as Biotherm is part of it.

MY IMPRESSION

I really like this lotion. It smells nice of freshness and flowers but the fragrance is very, very light.
Although it contains alcohol listed as a second ingredient, it does not dry my skin at all. The skin feels comfortable even if I don’t use a moisturiser. I also noticed from my previous experiences that some toners tend to leave a feeling of a film on your face, so the skin does not feel 100% clean and sometimes slightly sticky. Well, nothing like this after using Biotherm.
A bottle would last for about six weeks or even a bit longer when used twice. I have been using it for a month so far and still 2/3 of a bottle left.
To me, this is an ideal choice. I love the quality, I am happy with the price and I will definitely continue using it.
