I love my Bissell. What else can I say. I have light green carpets, 2 very messy children, an elderly cat prone to accidents and a dog that doesn't know how to wipe her paws.
I've had the most horrendous spills, vomit stains not to mention half the garden being trodden into my carpet, yet each time the carpet comes up as good a new.
Its such a pleasure to see carpets that are looking a disgusting brownie colour return to their natural colour.
The best shampoo to use with this machine is Bissell's own (in my case the pet one) Especially as it contains scotch guard and protects from stains thereby the more you use it the more protected your carpets become. The best place to buy this from is Ideal World, how sell 3 bottles for £19.99 plus p&p. Definetly the best price I have found so far, the average price is about £16.00 per bottle.
Its easy to handle, light and compact. Carpets are left touch dry. I can't work out how much money its saved me over the years when you factor in the cost of hiring a carpet cleaner for a couple of days as opposed to having one on hand, or indeed throwing out your carpet and buying new.
This is the most basic model that Bissell do, and has no additional tools on board. It comes with an attachment to clean hard floors, as I have not used this I cannot comment on its effectiveness. The water tank in separate and slots on to the back of the machine, it is clearly marked for the amount of cleaning solution to be put in and has a maximum fill line for water. You fill with hand hot tap water. The water tank is very easy to detach and fill (just slots in and lifts out).
The dirty water tank is at the front of the machine, it clips on and off very easily. Easy to empty and rinse clean. General maintenance is also simple, everything comes of with very managable clips.
It is easy to handle reasonably light and is not as loud as my Dyson
Best of all this machine has a 2 YEAR guarantee.
I have tried other carpet cleaners and wouldn't go back to them.
The average price point is about £99 but there are many deals to be had so do shop around.
This machine does what it says it will do. It is basic and very efficient.
Will I lend it out. No chance.
Would I get another. You bet, I've already got my eye on the next model up.
Summary: Brilliant machine, a must for every household.

Does two jobs but none well!

Advantages: Can be used in carpets and Hard floor
Disadvantages: Noisy and leaves hard floor very wet
...I send an email to Bissell to ask if this would meet my requirements- and from the answer I received, it seemed like I found my perfect match!
I did some research on the company as well- Bissell is an American company and started business in 1876 - quite an innovator in floor- care business. Anna and Melville Bissell owned a crockery shop in Grand Rapids Michigan, USA (BISSELL HQ is still there).
Mechanically minded Melville created a carpet sweeper ... ...wanted the sweeper. The first BISSELL factory was built in 1883, in Grand Rapids. On Melville's death, Anna Bissell took control of the expanding BISSELL business, becoming one of America's first female corporate CEOs. BISSELL became steadily more successful through its commitment to research, innovative product development.
In the UK, BISSELL's presence spans 112 years since the first London store. Queen Victoria insisted that her palaces be BISSELLED ...

Clean up with Bissell
Review of Bissell 1970E by
crowlord
Advantages: Very light and easy to use.
Disadvantages: Not heavy duty, pointless on hard floors.
I got the Bissell Quick Wash after spotting it in Tesco for a measly 70 quid. We have been planning to clean our carpets for some time. Bringing up 3 youngsters I shudder to think what lurks under my Shag Pile.
So an impulse buy really, the idea being that hiring a cleaner wouldn't be very satisfying if that tummy bug comes back or my youngest fails his potty training test.
I was quite impressed by how well it locked together with the minimum of ... ...are there.
The unit comes with a goodly supply of cleaning fluid, four bottles of carpet shampoo and two bottles of hard floor cleaner. This was a bit annoying as I had bought some extra, it doesn’t state they are included on the box.
Although the unit is intended for carpet cleaning primarily it does come with a hard floor attachment to replace the brush that you use on carpets.
Operation is a piece of cake, just lift off the clean water vat, ...

Bissell 1970 E Quickwash 2
Review of Bissell 1970E by

Advantages: Does what it says. My carpets dried in much less time than stated.
Disadvantages: Could not find one.
I ordered this product online and it arrived two days later. The item is very easy to assemble and comes with full instructions. If I could do it then anyone can! Included in my pack were two bottles of carpet cleaner and four bottles of hard floor cleaner. This was a very unexpected bonus and very thoughtful of the send. After assembly I couldn't wait to shampoo my living room and hall carpets. The results were amazing. I could not believe how dirty ... ...use. The carpets smelled so fresh afterwards. The instructions were very easy to understand and straighforward and I will certainly be cleaning my carpets as recommended by the supplier.
I would certainly recommend this product. I think it is great value and does exactly what it says. ...
