My Blurb:
I first saw this machine being demonstrated on a home shopping channel. I had been thinking about getting a carpet cleaner for awhile as I have two children and my carpet does get a lot of abuse. My parents have the Bissell Pro-Heat 2 upright cleaner and I had borrowed this twice, the biggest problem I had with it though was it left the carpets very wet and they take ages to dry especially in the winter.
When I watched the demonstration on tv the All Rounder seemed amazing it could clean both carpets and hard floors and was even easy to do stairs with on top of all that it was also a vacuum cleaner as well. Seeing as my dyson was on it's last legs I thought this was the perfect solution. I searched the internet for prices the RRP was £249.99 I checked Ebay, Tesco & Argos first as these normally offer good value for money all three dissapointed as they all wanted £249.99 I then just did a complete search and found out that comet were doing it for £174.99.
When we got it home I was quite shocked by the size of it it seemed so much bigger than it had on tv, I was really impressed that bissell give you 2 bottles of carpet cleaner and 2 bottles of hard floor cleaner as this meant I could use it straight away ( yes i am worse than a child with a new toy!) When you use it as a Vacuum you only need one of the tanks which you fill to a certain level which is marked on the tank with clean water and you get a neat little caddy which holds all your tools that slots in the other space.
When you hoover the dust, dirt etc is filtered through the water like a waterfall effect which is great if you have dust allergies as when you are finished you just tip the dirty water away no more dust clouds when you empty like a normal hoover.
With 2000w power this really does have amazing suction and although I had hooved twice already that day the water was black at the end of it which made me realise that my dyson although good obviosuly wasnt getting to the ground in dirt and dust, ewwwww!!! When you use it as a carpet cleaner you take the tool caddy out and put in the second tank. One of them you fill with hot water and then add the shampoo to, the other will collect the dirty water sucked up.
The wand on this is great because instead of having to bend over getting back ache it has a great handle on it so that you can stand up straight with minimal effort. You use a trigger button to spray the water/shampoo mixture down and when you release the button it will begin to start sucking it all back up again, and dependant on what you are cleaning and which tool you are using just by moving that back and forth gently agitating the surface it will clean.
I love this for cleaning my stairs as obviously you cant clean one with a upright and even though my parents one has a flexi tube wand on the back it didnt reach up all my stairs. I have only used mine for carpets as I have no laminate and my sofas are leather, But I was so impressed with it's cleaning when my Mother in law said that she needed a cleaner for her house which is laminated downstairs and carpeted upstairs I recommended she get one.
Argos had it on offer at the times so she got it for about £160 which she was very pleased about she has used it on her laminate and loves it and she has a material three piece suite in her conservatory which is a playroom for all her grandchildren so you can imagine how much abuse that gets and she cleaned it all with the all rounder and it looks new!!
I love this machine and I don't regret getting it at all but there are a couple of things I should point out. I have seen this machine described as light and easy to use. There is no way I would ever describe this machine as light, it is a beast of a machine which is fair enough seeing as all the things it does but it weighs 9kg alone without all the water in it so is not the faint hearted I find it difficult to move it from level to level in my house as getting up/down stairs is awkward.
It is also big in size so where you are going to store it is also a issue it's fine if you have a big cupboard or utilty room/ garage but we dont have any of these so mine has to live in a big cupboard upstairs which isn't the greatest solution. Last but not least I love hoovering and I normally say "I'll just quickly hoover the front room" with the all rounder that sentence is obsolete there is no quickly about hoovering.
By the time you have taken the tank out, filled it to the level with water, popped it back in and got the right attachment on you can hoover and then when you are finished you have to empty the tank out and then wash it out (otherwise they smell) by the time I have done that put it all back together and put it away it has taken at least half an hour.
I found this a pain especially when one of my children had just dropped a few crumbs or biscuits/crisps etc so I have to admit I did go out and buy a upright hoover as well which does fit into my little cupboard under the stairs so that I can quickly hoover. I use the All rounder once a week now to hoover all the way through the house.
All in all this is great value for money and if you offered me a brand new much more expensive Bissell Pro heat upright carpet cleaner in exchange I wouldn't be tempted and on top of that it has impressed my Mother-In-Law and there's not many things that can do that!! ;o)
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Nice one. Good detail.
I was trying to decide if an All Rounder was better than one of the traditional upright ones and the fact that you rated it better for stairs (we have pale carpet on the stairs that get the most dirty) made my mind up. I can live with it being big and heavy if it works well!
You don't need to (actually shouldn't) cut and paste the manufacturers blurb into a review.

I was going to rate this review as helpful due to the layout. It would make it much easier to read if you could put lines between your paragraphs.
