I have an Irish Wolfhound. A big Irish Wolfhound. She is now 11 years old and occasionally has a little accident in the living room. I say little, but it's not really, it's a huge puddle being such a huge dog! Of course I would do my best to clear it all up using kitchen rolls and Dettox etc. but I never felt I was doing all I could to get rid of it. After a while I decided that I needed something more to help, so I started looking at carpet cleaners. I'd had one years before, but it was a cylinder carpet cleaner and it was such hard work using the tools to clean the carpet.

I noticed the Bissell Pro Heat Cleaner in one of my catalogues first of all. It wasn't cheap at £240.00. I could have bought it cheaper through another outlet, such as QVC, but this suited me better as it was on a Buy Now Pay Later basis and also I would then be able to pay off for it monthly. I decided to order one to see if it was all it was cracked up to be.

When it came, I spent a while putting it together - well, that is attaching the handle to the body of the machine - then reading through the instruction leaflet thoroughly. It all seemed straight forward, and it was. I tried it on what I thought was a slightly grubby part of the carpet near the door. When I emptied the container of dirty water, it was filthy! Now, I am perhaps not the World's most diligent housewife, but I do like to keep the house clean and tidy and I was shocked at how much dirt it had taken up from the carpet.

When you start using the machine, you have to fill up the special conatiner bottle with the Bissell fibre cleaning formula, fill up the other bucket type container with warm water, put them back on the machine, set the right settings, then you're away. It's really as simple as that. Because it's an upright cleaner, you literally use it like a vacuum cleaner, going backwards and forwards slowly over the part of the carpet you want to clean. It washes the carpet with the solution, then sucks up the excess water, leaving the carpet damp, not soaking wet.
I can't say just how brillian I think this machine is. It's definitely one of the best things I have ever bought for the house.
