First, the water bladder is really small. I generally have to change out the water twice per room I clean. Considering how heavy this machine is to push around, you'd think you were carrying about a bathtub of water in it; it's frustrating to continually have to stop for a refill.
Also, the machine will let you continue cleaning after you've run out of water or solution, which can result in a very sticky, expensive mess if you're not paying attention.
It's difficult to get the machine clean once you've used it, as well. I have cats, and find that the machine tends to collect their hair in little balls and then deposit them on the clean rug. Short of taking the whole thing apart with a screw driver, I can't find a way of getting all the fur out. The hose is especially difficult to clean. Mine has taken on a yellow tinge to it, although I'm careful about rinsing it out after every use.
The base for the hose attachment is brittle and definitely not designed to stand up to long-term use. The whole thing is held on by little plastic tabs, which snapped off while my husband was recoiling the hose. Now we have to wrap the hose around the handle, which looks tacky and can't be good for the hose, either.
Finally, our heater has become unreliable. Sometimes you'll start cleaning and see a nice, sweet-smelling steam rising from the carpet, and then a few seconds later you realize that the steam is gone and you are spraying your carpet with cold water. I have no idea why it does this. How typical that it would wait until the warranty expired before giving us this kind of trouble!
Advantages: Works very well on your floors Disadvantages: None noticed
The Bissell ProHeat is a truly wonderful device. We moved into a new house, recently. It was a show home and we were assured that it had been cleaned to a "high standard" by the cleaner who had worked for the developers for nearly 20 years. Well, doubtless she'd turned up every day, but I would be surprised to find out if she had done any cleaning throughout the entire 20 years. The carpet, in short, was decidedly grubby after been walked on by all ... ...decided to plump for the Bissell ProHeat II. It cost is £168.00 from the Marshall Ward catalogue, so it was delivered direct to our door.
It comes with an easy-to-read instruction 20 page instruction booklet. This booklet is unique in my recent experience of instruction booklets in that it is easy to understand and use and does not come complete with page after page of multi-lingual instructions that merely cause misery and confusion to the hapless ...

Advantages: Cleans effectively, easy to use Disadvantages: A bit heavy
...about £35 a time. The Bissell cost £195 from Argos, including a couple of bottles of cleaning fluid .
It was easy to set up and use, the small hanbook that comes with it is clear & simple to follow.
It cleans carpets very effectively, operating like an upright vacuum cleaner, without getting the carpets too wet. Usually it needs two or three rinses (on heavily used carpets) to get really clean - the amount of dirt coming out in the first rinse ... ...a comprehensive set of tools for doing upholstery but we haven't tried these yet - our main armchairs & settees require special cleaning techniques.
Overall, I would say it works better that the standard types of commercially hired cleaners, is more convenient, and would save money over two or three years, depending on how often you clean your carpets/upholstery. ...

...it had been back to Bissell and been repaired and some items replaced.. The second machine has already had parts replaced and the tank has perished. The cleaning of the machine is very difficult and there are too many small places for fluff to accumulate and cause problems for future use. The tank perishes instantly on first use and is then very difficult to refill (holding it open with a spoon!!) Bissell service department asre only open for very ...

I have owned two of these machines, the reason for this being, the first one failed to work after cleaning one carpet. When I contacted Bissell about this they were next to useless in their response. Eventually however, it was picked up for repair after many phone calls and letters were sent to Bissell.
The machine was eventually returned to me however, on unpacking it, I found that both back wheels had been smashed. More phone calls and letter ensued. Finally after even more phone calls and letters they promised to send a replacement machine. The second time of using this new machine it has again failed to work. It started emitting a strong burning smell and then stopped working.
This machine has given me nothing but grief during the time I have owned it. I am now going to experience the greatest joy and pleasure ...

My Blurb:
I first saw this machine being demonstrated on a home shopping channel. I had been thinking about getting a carpet cleaner for awhile as I have two children and my carpet does get a lot of abuse.
My parents have the BissellPro-Heat 2 upright cleaner and I had borrowed this twice, the biggest problem I had with it though was it left the carpets very wet and they take ages to dry especially in the winter.
When I watched the demonstration on tv the All Rounder seemed amazing it could clean both carpets and hard floors and was even easy to do stairs with on top of all that it was also a vacuum cleaner as well ...

Advantages: Cleans the carpets effortlessly, with no more effort than using a vacuum cleaner. Disadvantages: quite heavy, expensive
I have an Irish Wolfhound. A big Irish Wolfhound. She is now 11 years old and occasionally has a little accident in the living room. I say little, but it's not really, it's a huge puddle being such a huge dog! Of course I would do my best to clear it all up using kitchen rolls and Dettox etc. but I never felt I was doing all I could to get rid of it. After a while I decided that I needed something more to help, so I started looking at carpet cleaners. I'd had one years before, but it was a cylinder carpet cleaner and it was such hard work using the tools to clean the carpet.
I noticed the BissellProHeat Cleaner in one of my catalogues first of all. It wasn't cheap at £240.00. I could have bought it cheaper through another outlet, such as QVC, but this suited me better as it was on a Buy Now Pay Later basis and also I would ...
