Advantages: Works very well on your floors Disadvantages: None noticed
The BissellProHeat is a truly wonderful device. We moved into a new house, recently. It was a show home and we were assured that it had been cleaned to a "high standard" by the cleaner who had worked for the developers for nearly 20 years. Well, doubtless she'd turned up every day, but I would be surprised to find out if she had done any cleaning throughout the entire 20 years. The carpet, in short, was decidedly grubby after been walked on by all and sundry for the two years that it had served as a show home.
What to do? Hire a carpet cleaner at £60 to £70 per day (plus the deposit) or buy a carpet cleaning system? We decided to go for the latter option and looked around for a carpet cleaning system.
After looking round and seeing what was available, we decided to plump for the BissellProHeat II. It cost is £168.00 from ...

Advantages: I now have new carpets Disadvantages: perhaps the cost
So I have a nice house, the carpets are not that old (4 years in fact) but they are starting to look beyond their best. I also have got 2 Scottish Terriers who are now 18 months old, so they haven?t quite learnt to wipe their feet when they come in from the garden yet. A dusky pink carpet in the sitting room, dining room and stairs needs some serious work doing to it.
I use my trusty Dyson, and it looks like I have a new puppy in the container on the front of it! I scrub the carpet with carpet cleaner. No it is no good, I don?t want to be a domestic God anymore, I want something that will clean my carpets without too much trouble on my part.
** What did I get? **
The clearer I bought was the 7920E pro-heat, protech upright cleaner with Scotchguard protector. The reason I went for this, is it looked quite good! It has ...
Advantages: Very light and easy to use. Disadvantages: Not heavy duty, pointless on hard floors.
I got the Bissell Quick Wash after spotting it in Tesco for a measly 70 quid. We have been planning to clean our carpets for some time. Bringing up 3 youngsters I shudder to think what lurks under my Shag Pile.
So an impulse buy really, the idea being that hiring a cleaner wouldn't be very satisfying if that tummy bug comes back or my youngest fails his potty training test.
I was quite impressed by how well it locked together with the minimum of assembly required. A Phillips screwdriver and three screws and you are there.
The unit comes with a goodly supply of cleaning fluid, four bottles of carpet shampoo and two bottles of hard floor cleaner. This was a bit annoying as I had bought some extra, it doesn?t state they are included on the box.
Although the unit is intended for carpet cleaning primarily it does come with a hard ...
