    Advantages Advantages Includes topics for Human Biology As level courses,contains key points for each topic and past exam questions.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Only 96 pages, doesn't go into that much detail.

    Its that time of the year again, and most of us who want to do well in exams will be scouring the shops for good, yet relatively inexpensive, revision guides. However, revision material for certain subjects like Human Biology, Environmental Studies and ICT is usually harder to come by than others. At first glance, ‘Do Brilliantly at AS Biology’ appears to just cover the various AS Biology Syllabuses, but it actually contains many topics in the Human Biology modules such as the Cell Cycle, The Heart & Circulation, Nucleic acids and Protein Synthesis.     Advantages Advantages It provides some practice

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Emphasis is on written work

    Interestingly laid out, this covers the main points of grammar and what is expected in the examination. It is not something I would recommend you rely on soley. French grammar books are NEVER laid out as well as French French grammar boks, although this does not profess to be a grammar book. As I said, it covers the ground rules. Gives summaries of key knowlege in "bitesize" pieces. Helps plan revision Gives practice questions and answers. - The latter has been known to have been an actual further purchase for some books.     As I was mid-way through my GCSE courses I thought that it would be helpful to buy books relating to the subjects I could readily improve, so I bought, from the BBC Bitesize range: Maths, Science and English revision books. I knew that the bitesize books had been widely advertised and felt that they should be able to help me succeed. Within a few days I realised that they wouldn't be very helpful with my revsion as they were reviewing things that I had done several years previously. I know it has go to include the basics, but not just them. I would suggest students taking part in their year 9 ... more
