I bought my BiUbe after looking at a wide range of starter aquariums and despite the advice in a well known pet supermarket. My choice was based on the look of the BiUbe and the available space in my flat.
So far I have not been disappointed. TheBiUbe looks great and is very simple to maintain. The water changes are very easy to carry out and changing the filter is straightforward and quick. I bought the heater kit and mounted it on the supplied stand - this is the only thing I have found that isn't quite right. A zebra danio managed to get stuck behind the stand. The solution is easy though - don't use the stand! The heater can be fixed to the side of the BiUbe without using the stand. I think the stand is only really needed in a BiOrb and a fish couldn't get stuck in one of those because of the curved side.
I have put a small shoal of zebra danio's in my tank with a small shoal of mountain minnows and all the fish seem very happy and healthy - watching them darting around the plants is very soothing.
The central bubble tube is a real feature and I can't think why anyone would want to hide it with one of those awful plastic volcanoes. I opted for some live plants and a pirate ship!
The filters are a bit on the expensive side but can be bought in bulk on ebay for around £26 for 6.
I've just ordered an i-light which I'm really looking forward to getting.
I can recommend the BiUbe to anyone thinking about getting a small aquarium - it's much better than the alternatives of similar size.
