I spent a long time trying to decide on what new phone to get after giving up with my Samsung Omnia. I was tossing up between the Apple Iphone the blackberry. I already had an Ipod Touch so I already had a good idea of what the iphone would be like and I loved the idea all the apps etc. In the end I went for the blackberr curve 8900 for a few different reasons. Firstly, everyone that I spoke to who had an iphone either loved it or hated it, where as everyone who had a blackberry simply loved them. Also I have heard a lot of problems about the iphone and its reliability and battery life. My last phone, the samsung omnia had a touch screen I found it infuriating trying to text on it. So I went for the blackberry over the iphone simply because it has a far better battery life, its got great reliability and its so easy to type using its keys. It may not look quite as stylish as many other phones but it makes up for it in function. Even the blackberry doesn't necessarily do that much more some of the smart phones available today, it seems to do every function so easily.

Simply turning it on seems to take less time then any other phone I have had, and its internet browsing is surprisingly quick and easy to use with its trackball. The battery life on the phone is also excellent. One of the best features on the blackberry is the blackberry messenger, which is basically like msn on your phone but better. Its so easy to use and so quick to get in contact with people, and the best part is its free. This is becoming much more useful as more and more people now have blackberries. The display is also very bright and clear, even in direct sunlight it is still possible to use unlike many of my old phones. I love how it has a full keyboard and although at first glance it looks as if it would be hard to type on, even with very fat fingers it is so easy and quick to type. Because it has a full keyboard, there is no need for predictive texts, therefore there is no problem of sending texts with the wrong words in them which i know happens a lot with predictive texts. The blackberry app world allows you to download useful applications to your blackberry similar to the iphone. I have downloaded Facebook amongst other apps and it works perfectly and they are often updating the apps to make them better.

Everything is very simple and easy to do on a blackberry, it is difficult to find any faults with it. It has all the normal functions like wifi, Bluetooth, a built in camera, internet etc. The camera is nothing special and the shutter speed is pretty slow, but there are certainly worse out there. The phone itself is nothing to rave about, it looks good but its not quite as innovative and stylish as a lot of other phones out there but as I said before it definitely makes up for it in function.

The blackberry 8900 is definately worth getting, I dont know what I would do without mine and I will certainly be sicking to blackberries for a long time
