It comes in 2 flavours - the corded variety and and the cordless (which is the one I bought).
Courtesy of B&Q bargain basement, I picked up this excellent tool for £35 recently (but they are not available in all stores).
Uses -------- The cordless freedom allows me to get to places a corded saw could not reach.
I needed to saw a number of branches and logs around the bottom of the garden - in this it has been ecellent.
I have only used the wood blade at present, but the quick release/change mechanism and metal blades are there for the future....
What Do You Get ------------------------ A hard case, charger, 1 battery, manual, 3 blades and the saw. The battery is the new style sliding Firestorm 14.4v battery - these can be shared with other compatible B&D tools but I have yet to see one ....
What Do Yo Not Get? ----------------------------- Additional batteries (although there is a 2 battery version apparently).
So why is this an issue? Well, the power consumption of the saw is high, and a few decent logs soon uses up the charge.
You really need extra batteries, but these cost £30 which is ridiculous given the saw was only £35 in the first place. The standard charger takes 3 hours to recharge a battery. There is allegedly a rapid charger but not that I have found yet.
Pros ------ Portable Quick Effective cutting
Cons -------- Battery life Slow charging Vibration - prolonged use is quite hard on the hands.
The newer models come with Gel pads on the handle to minimise the vibrations.
Overall ---------- An execellent saw at a bargain price. Very useful. Recommended.

Good review. I agree its hard to write a review on these things, but could have put in more details about the vibrations (As Richada has pointed out) and the reliability, battery life. Not sure if i have missed reading that in the review.

I reckon if my husband got his hand on one of these he'd use it to chop down all the bushes in our garden!! Jane x

Your review is excellent, but I'm afraid reading the sponsored links immediately below it all I can remember of it now through the tears of laughter are the vibrations!
