Advantages: Reliable, Trustworthy and High performance Disadvantages: Doesn't vacum plaster dust well
like a never ending battle to keep the house clean, but with the Dust buster it helps to make that chore a little easier. It's especially efficient when there is any food on the floor or if you have been doing crafts and it's also very good with things like play doh.
It appeals to those with a more modern taste as it looks neat and stylish, if you can call a Dust buster stylish? The target market for the Black and Decker PV1205B Dust buster is probably those with a family or those with busy lives that need something quick and convenient to tidy up small messes.
If you have a car then the Black & Decker Dust buster V9650 works well at cleaning the crumbs, dirt and other minor mess that often collects in the car. If you want to clean up things like fine powder or brick and plaster dust it is not very effective and you will find that ...
Advantages: Easy to use, empty and maintain - does what it says, and does it well. Disadvantages: I've not found any yet
Black & Decker 1205B 12V Pivot Vac.
£59.77 from Argos
A small cordless vacuum cleaner.
It lives in its charger/base, which can be screwed to the wall, but is small enough just to sit on the worktop (unlike other cordless vacs, it stands on its end, so takes up very little space). The base needs to be near a 13A socket, but it doesn't need to be plugged in all the time, as a full charge gives plenty of suck-time (I have not timed it).
The instructions (as is Black & Decker norm) are detailed, easy to understand, and helpful.
The rotating nozzle may seem like a gimmick, but it makes the device very good at vacuuming on high surfaces (e.g. cupboard tops) and low inaccesable spots. There are two speeds, but usually the lower one is fine. The spout is telescopic, and there is a little brush that can be clipped into the end ...
Advantages: It's great! Cable-free, rechargable, handy-sized, portable, efficient! Disadvantages: You may grumble at battery life dwindling now - but 3 years use and still-going
If you are looking for a handy vacuum to zap up a little mess or spills, this Black and Decker Wet and Dry Dustbuster is the thing!
Retail price: Around £45. No maintenance costs.
Background
With small children at home, things are constantly knocked over by mistake. When you have a little spill to clear up, and you don't want to hoist a normal-sized vacuum out of the cupboard, use the Dustbuster. It is a hand-held vacuum, and weighs about 2kg. It has a 4.8V motor - sufficient for sucking up a small mess, in my opinion, and can be used for 10 minutes non-stop.
Power and storage
This is a cable-less. By this I mean that you place it into the docking station to charge it up, and this is powered by the mains socket. There is a very handy docking station, which can be conveniently mounted on the wall (in the cupboard under ...
