Advantages: Multitasking, GPS, large screen, Qwerty keyboard Disadvantages: Not many, except keyboard locking and holster use.

In a nutshell, Blackberry phones seemed to be on the expensive end of the market and many people who have them seemed to be pleased. So I decided to check it out.
The first thing you notice is the complication and a different style of use. This takes time to get used to. The roller-ball is a cross between a pointer mouse and the stylus system on other PDAs. And yes if you previously own a Windows based PDA, you will probably be looking for a stylus to poke the screen with! You get used to it. But the Qwerty keyboard more than replaces the clumsy stylus. One of the biggest drawbacks of stylus based was that the stylus was lost all too often. I personally always have preferred phones which are durable and easy to use. This after a bit of playing fits the bill.
One thing of concern with any PDA, is the ability of the device to multitask without crashing or slowing down. I used own a SPV which was Windows based and the major problem was calls and applications kept crashing mid-call. This Blackberry has no such problems. You can even connect the blue-tooth to any GPS and have sat-nav working in conjunction with phone and other applications relatively easily.
Appearance
Qwerty keyboard is first notable thing, with the roller ball in the middle. Silver in colour it is quite cleverly designed, permitting an efficient proportion between keyboard area and screen. It actually looks quite neat on your desktop. Volume buttons are on the side and access to voice dialling and camera are also located via quick buttons. The size of the keys are big enough for thumbs, yet small and compact enough to look tidy.
It has reflective tint screen when the backlight is off, and when the light comes on, it is pleasant to the eye. The battery cover is easily removable with a button at the back.
It has clever sized mirror at the back under the camera lens for accurate self picture taking.
Flashing LED (optional on/off) for coverage brings a vintage feature back on the device.
Watch out for holster replacing though, for there does not seem to automatic keylock unles you set it to come on in the holster.
Phone: Messaging takes time to get used as the qwerty keyboard is direct typing. But be careful of the numbers in text as you have to press the ALT (shift) key everytime you put in a number. MMS, SMS, pictures and videos can all be utilised depending on network provider.
Calls relatively straight forward - call waiting, forwarding, video and conferencing. But the contact card has the abiltiy to store a vast array of features which can be incorporated when making calls. For example, the titles, names or surnames are filtered fro ease of location.
WIFI Excellent if you have it, large screen allows you access the internet easily when out. You build a WIFI network by searching a new location with available sites. You probably have to register with the free ones, or get WEP code for others for there maybe a charge.
GPRS - internet accesss usually accessed here, if WIFI not available, but the phone responds quited well in receiving and sending data. With the larger screen pages are much easier to browse.
ADMINISTRATION One of the suberb abilities of this device is the ability to manage affairs on the move. Other than mobile phone contacts, the are times when pen and paper are not at hand (outside), and most other phones do not allow speedy note making, this phone is the 'bees-knees'. Whether, you are setting up an event or conference or you have arrange things at short notice, knowing where you team are, or generally for multitask planning, this phone is excellent. As well as your diary, notepad, calender, tasks, you have your memopad where you place all your temporary infomation under one heading to be sorted out as it evolves. I think this area this phone outshines many other phones.
CAMERA - 2.0megapixel camera, it takes surprisingly good pictures even blown up on PC. Good for taken snapshots, and video has the usual features of night/day/luminescent/ etc.
GAMES: can be downloaded and brickbreaker can be addictive MUSIC/ViDEOS: can be downloaded to taste. RINGTONES: Not as many but again can be dowloaded. One thing however, it takes time to get used to Blackberry's profile layout and assigning ringtones. It becomes relatively easy when you know how.
Generally I am actually quite impressed with this Smartphone, and Blackberry truly lives up to its name. There are many other features which would make this review mega-long but all in all these phones are recommended for all multi-taskers but they are not for everyone. If you don't mind the size, and you need to use many of the features, such e-mail, memo, and bluetooth then this would be for you. However, if you just want to make calls, and SMS or even listen to music then this phone would be too complicated for your needs. But for the organiser, the internet user on the move, or the note maker, this phone is a excellent choice.
Advantages: Easy to use, lots of features, quick internet browsing on the go, Disadvantages: battery life isn't that long
I have recently got the Blackberry Curve 8900 and I love it. It's the best phone I've ever had. I have it on a contract with Orange and it costs me £35 per month for 600 minutes and unlimited texts (which is good as I'm a constant texter!) - I also opted to pay an extra £5 a month for internet access on my phone, which is a must-have with a blackberry to really use all it's features. I love the full QUERTY keypad, it makes texting so quick and easy, ... ...Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger & Blackberry Messenger too, which is always handy if you like to keep in touch with your friends. Providing you added in the Internet option with your contract you can use all of this for free. All in all it's a great phone, really easy to use, and so functional! You just can't put it down!! ...

Advantages: lightweight, customisable, multiple applications, camera, many more. Disadvantages: confusing and complicated at first
The blackberry curve is a sleek and lightweight business device. The large screen, simple menu and qwerty keyboard make using the curve a delight. At first the curve takes a bit of time and patience to get used to, but after a few days you will be fully complacent with its workings. The curve is an excellent device which can be customised to the users needs. The curve comes packed with useful applications and even one very addictive game. The camera ... ...Hundreds of applications can be downloaded to the device, via the Internet, including games, word processors and instant messengers making the experience even more personal. The sensitivity of the trackball is easily altered to give you the best feel for your needs. All in all the curve is a very useful device, great for both personal and business use, a must buy over any mobile phone and will even compete with many PDA's. 5 Stars! ...

Advantages: Great al rounder, very easy to use and looks fantastic Disadvantages: No Video capture and poor internet service
Unlike any of its predecessors, the Blackberry curve8300 is not just aimed at the business market. With more multimedia aspects such as a 2megapixel camera, media player and games it is a fantastic all rounder. All aspects of this phone have been dramtically improved. As well as the phone looking fantastic, it is incredibly easy to use as the re-designed qwerty keyboard is better then ever. The phones ergonomics are incredible and i am a big fan of the trackball navagation system.
Although it is a massive steop in the right direction, there are a few areas in which the Blackberry curve still lets itself down. Not having a video feature or a high quality internet service lets the phone down when comaring it to its market contenders (most notably the iphone). ...
Advantages: Email push, landscape screen, tons of features, QWERTY keyboard + + + Disadvantages: None really, keys a bit small if you have large hands.
Although the Curve8300 is small with a smooth, curved case and soft edges it still comes with powerful user friendly, business focused features. It had a solid reassuring feel in my hand even though it's also nice and light at 111g.
Internal Flash memory of 64Mb can be extended by inserting a Micro SD memory card. The large, high resolution, 65,000 colour viewing screen is light sensitive; automatically adjusting the light level of the display for good viewing in all light conditions. I found this to work very well.
Navigating the Curve8300 was a dream; it has trackball navigation, dedicated entry keys and an easy to use full QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard has a nice, subtle backlight.
BlackBerry and email are synonymous and the Curve8300 supports document attached emails which was a real boost when emailing as I often include ...
Advantages: BBM, Push e-mails, Beautiful interface, Easy customisation, Enhanced video media player, QWERTY keyboard Disadvantages: GPRS internet connection, as opposed to 3G or Wi-Fi
Not only is the Blackberry Curve8300 smartphone from RIM both the smallest and lightest Blacberry smartphone, it is also one of the best designs RIM has produced.
Although the phone is only slightly smaller than earlier models, it is far more compact and supposedly 20% lighter, which really makes a difference either in your bag or pocket, enabling it easier to carry it around with you throughout the day. The colour display is truly impressive, and alternative themes come with the phone, and are also available for download from various websites. Similar to the pearl, it is equipped with a trackball rather than a thumbwheel. Compared to the iPod this was far easier than touchscreen, and did not smear the screen! Just looking at it, the Curve really is a beautiful phone.
But if you are one who is unaffected by a phone's outward ...
Featuring a liquid silver finish, clean lines and soft edges, the BlackBerry Curve 8300 smartphone is the smallest and lightest BlackBerry smartphone ever to come with a full QWERTY keyboard. It's packed with incredible features, including a camera, BlackBerry Maps, a media player, expandable memory, Voice-Activated Dialing, tethered modem and trackball navigation. Plus you get all the core functionality you've come to expect in a BlackBerry smartphone - email and text messaging, instant messaging, web browser and advanced phone functionality. The BlackBerry Curve - it's your connection to everything that matters.
