WOW! What an incredible book, just when you think she couldnt better herself, she writes the most fantastic character in Tarquin Blackwood since Lestat himself. No offence Lestat! i've been reading Anne 's books for about 5 years now and i think i've got all of them under my belt, trust me when i say this is one of the most innovative novels she has written since inventing the Taltos. Its a must for fans but would also suit the new-comer to her books as it starts a new adventure with a new cast except Lestat. This book brings to your attention a supernatural occurence which has been documented in the real world as well as in Fantasy. Tarquin Blackwood is haunted by a wicked spirit who is later revealed to be connected to him from birth. the books gives you some wonderfully colourfull characters such as Aunt Queen and Jasmin. it also brings in the powerful mayfair witches who we have see in their own chronicals. So, it will have you wanting more from the offset and if your new to Anne Rice you'll definatly want to find her other books.
