I've always been cautious when trying new 'miracle' products, especially when it comes to promises of white, glistening teeth. Mostly because they don't usually work (at least for me!). But dozing off to sleep watching some cable shopping channel, a product called 'Blanx' caught my eye. The presenter talked about a natural formula discovered in the Arctic when someone noticed how white our Icelandic friends' teeth are. Apparently the moss that grows there contains an ingredient - lichen extract -which naturally cleans and restores teeth to their original whiteness. This was taken and adapted into a toothpaste, and other Blanx products available on the market.
I decided to not pay the hefty £13.99 the channel were selling the toothpaste for and instead research for a better deal. The cheapest I could find was £6.99 on the Boots website, with a £3.50 postage and packaging charge on top of it. I did look for it in my Boots store but couldn't find it, though I've been told they do stock it. I instead bought mine from a trusted eBay seller who specialises in selling Blanx products and offers a variety of the brand for around £8.
The first time I used the product my teeth did feel very clean but I didn't notice a change in a colour. I kept using it twice daily and after a few days I noticed my teeth definitely starting to look whiter. Of course, the resulting whiteness of using Blanx varies person to person - the toothpaste is designed to restore a person's NATURAL tooth whiteness, and some people's teeth are naturally whiter than others, but I've found the significance in difference enough to continue buying the product. Blanx keeps my breath fresh and I continually feel the cleanness of my teeth - something I find usually wares off when a product has been used a few times. The product also claims to protect teeth from decay and bacteria - I haven't been using the product long enough and to really vouch for that, but my dentist did commend me for a definite improvement in the state of my teeth, which was quite the opposite before I started using the product.
Blanx also tastes much nicer than I expected it to. It has a very mild mint flavour and makes a nice change from the toothpastes I normally buy which are so strong they hurt my gums. My teeth are quite sensitive too, and I have found no problems with using Blanx on them.
Blanx comes in a hard plastic pump which makes it very easy to apply to your toothbrush and prevents messiness often found with ordinary tubed toothpaste. The pump is 100ml, which has lasted me a couple of months so far, and I am the sole user of the product, and I've heard from other people that the same product lasts them 2-3 months for the whole family. The pump comes packaged in a cardboard box which folds out into a handy chart measuring tooth whiteness for you to compare the difference in whiteness as you are using the product.
I would say that Blanx is a very good product and does exactly what it advertises. However, its success is dependent on the individual - how often the product is used, the natural whiteness of their teeth. I definitely would recommend it, though, as something to try if your regular toothpaste isn't cleaning your teeth as it should, and definitely an option to try against other brands such as Pearl Drops which can be equally as expensive and with less effectiveness. Although quite expensive, I would rather pay the extra few pounds for a product that actually works for me.

The first time I saw BlanX toothpaste was on the 'idealworld' shopping channel. I ususally don't give in to the sale patter on these programmes but I decided to go for it and got a twin pack for about £14.00- I have sworn blind over the years by using Euthymol and I still love the hot pink stuff - so it was going to be hard going for another toothpaste to sway me !! which is exactly what BlanX did.
Apparently it has 'long standing Icelandic Secrets' ...
...of my oral hygene and BlanX is a great little aid from my point of view.
It has a pleasant and refreshing mint flavour that doesn't fade as soon as you brush your teeth - you don't use water with it, just pop it straight onto your brush and get scrubbing! it doesn't need much either and the pump action tube seems to last quite a long time (approx 2months or so for my family of 3 I would say,from the 100ml tube)

BlanX toothpaste and all their product are generally out of this world! I these days i stick to Blanx biorepair. I had white stains where the enamel was decalcified (where i had braces) and biorepair completely evened the enamel. I don't need to bleach my teeth to have even colour- and it is my natural enamel colour, which is amazing as I had been told previously by dentist specialist that there was no cure for my case and that i would have to learn to live with it or bleach. So, please, People keep buying this stuff to make sure that these guys don't go out of business and the prices might go down because i could not go back to any ordinary toothpaste after Blanx biorepair.

A tooth whitener that works

Advantages: works quickly without damaging teeth
Disadvantages: A bit pricey BUT it is worth it
...starting to see a difference. Blanx has a nice taste and contains extract of Arctic lichen which is a non abrasive cleaning agent used to kill bacteria while leaving behing the good bacteria and help stop plaque sticking to teeth. When i do run out I would be happy to buy another despite the price. There are more expensive tooth whiteners out there that I wouldn't trust to use on my teeth but seems like a really safe and effective product.. ...
