Advantages: Clear display, and quick and accurate route calculations. Disadvantages: Quirky controls, software and flimsy mounting cradle
...but is of a poor design and is not very robust. When the unit is turned on you presented with a menu for navigation multimedia and settings. Pressing navigation takes you to a second menu for destination entry, home, show map, points of interest and route options. Destinations can be set using address or full UK postcode. Route calculations are very quick as is satellite acquisition. The program sometimes does not react very quickly to touch sensitive controls making you think you have not pressed it properly you press it again and then it moves 2 steps instead of the 1 you wanted. The routes selected seem to be very accurate and the display is very clear, but the audio is very poor with not much volume made worse by the tiny speaker. Advantages: Clear verbal instructions, very easy to use, dashboard intergrated makes it less "nickable" and a detachable facia, can do miles or KM Disadvantages: Does not give you idea of where you are, eg if your near points of interest, cant review whole route, so you cant check it out on a map

Quite simply, the stereo displays the track number and time elapsed when playing a CD, and has RDS* which enables it to display the name of the radio station, frequency or time when the radio's on (you have a choice of display). On the left is a nifty little icon that lights up if a CD is in the drive. Alongside that is a car logo to indicate that traffic announcements are being received and will broadcast. On the right there’s an 'X-Bass' (the Blaupunkt bass enhancement feature) logo that indicates how much bass is being used.
* More on RDS can be found at http://www.rds.org.uk/rds98/rds98.htm. It is a mechanism for ensuring that your radio tunes itself to the strongest possible frequency at all times. A nice aspect of it is that it displays the name of the radio station that you're listening to...
