Philips Hand Blender
Review of Philips HR1355/0 by thespurs

Advantages: See Review

...to anyone. Using my other Philips blender as an example, I will try to justify my lack of enthusiasm for this product. To begin with, at around £35 it is very expensive for a blender with its limited capabilities. It only has a 300w motor, so it takes an awful lot longer to blend any mixtures that are thick or are very hard. I would suggest the other Philips blender that I have reviewed, if ou are looking for a blender at the moment. ... Read review

mish, mash...GOSH
Review of Philips HR1351/6 by lilpoos_mum

Advantages: easy to use, easy to clean
Disadvantages: none

This is a brilliant little gadget!! I cannot rave about this enough. I bought this model from my catalogue about one year ago in readiness for my baby weaning.Costs about £17. Not one regret have I about this super little kitchen helper.I'm sure they are available from all good retailers like Argos and Index, etc. The motorised handle plugs into a socket with a generous amount of cord. You pop the blender attachment onto the handle and press a ...
...three fingers on. The small double sided blade whizzes up really quickly and makes a mush of large lumps of meat or vegetables. I used the long attachment for blending and popped the food into the spacious jug (included). The tool is nicely long enough to use with the jug with comfort and ease. Also comes a smaller container which is used as a chopping tool. The motorised handle plugs into the top of the chopper which in turn is popped onto a clear ... Read review

A Basic Blender
Review of Philips HR1340/10 by Huwizz

Advantages: Cheap, Easy to Clean, Styling, Novelty Cord Grip
Disadvantages: Grip and Button design

The Philips 1340, or Billy, is a very basic hand blender. It’s a one piece unit and because of its length I find it easier to keep upright on the work top. It’s very easy to grab when I make my slob attempts at cooking. I do also have a Braun, but that disassembles into two parts and stays in the cupboard with its chopper and whisking accessories. I’d bought the Philips cos I wanted something cheap to use for making soap. I still haven’t got around ...
...as the Moulinex was. PHILIPS STYLING Now onto the Philips, it’s a one piece like my first Kenwood, the over all shape is quite curvy, it makes me think of 50’s streamline design. It also has funny loop ears in a hard green plastic on top. They’re meant for hanging the appliance off a hook and using as a cord grip. It’s a nice idea. I did try hanging the blender from the loops, but they bend a bit from the weight of the blender and the plastic has ... Read review

Breville VBL011 Anthony Worral Thompson Blender
Review of Breville VBL011/BL19/BL34 by sparkleclairyfairy

Advantages: Excellent powerful blender
Disadvantages: Very unreliable

We purchased this blender to make smoothies and vegetable soups. We are on our third blender in 3 months due to various faults. Blender 1. Shorted the house electrics and made a horrible smell Blender 2. The washer which prevents leaks broke Blender 3. The washer which prevents leaks broke and the blades stopped spinning. When the blender works it is very good. The blender is very powerful and blends fruit and ice into great smoothies. When it ...
...the case that it has only been designed for occasional use. The manual advises that the blades can be easily removed for cleaning. We found the blades stuck fast and it impossible to remove the blades on all 3 blenders we owned. The preset controls make it really easy to use. Its a real shame we can't seem to get a working one. But there appears to be some design and reliability flaws in the product. ... Read review

blend it
Review of Kenwood BL440 by danniell

Advantages: great blender
Disadvantages: none

My daughters both love milk shakes and fruit drinks but trying to get them to eat a piece of fruit is near impossible so when i spotted this blender for just £15.23p at asda i thought i would give it a go as if it wasnt any good i hadnt wasted a fortune on it. I was very surprised with how easy this blender is to use, the base attaches to the jug very easily and the power wont start if the jug isnt attached properly so no risk of the jug flying ...
...the front and a pulse mode to make things even smoother. The jug is 1.5 litres which is an ideal size for what we need and is made of plastic, the blades are stainless steel so are brilliant for blending fruit and according to the box they are supposed to be tough enough to mix ice but i havent had any need to try this. The jug unattaches from the base easily enough and the blades unscrew for ease of cleaning but you do need to make sure they are ... Read review
