Russell Hobbs hand blender - Model No. 14452
Review of Russell Hobbs 14452 by christineatperpro

Advantages: Fast blending./chopping
Disadvantages: Cannot be used in very hot liquids

...but I did see this Russell Hobbs model. I used it almost immediately but within minutes the plastic guard had melted and buckled in the hot liquid. I was pretty well stunned; this was the last think I expected. I re-read the instruction booklet and although it advises blending the ingredients before cooking and using caution when working with hot liquids, nowhere does it say that it is unsuitable for use in hot liquids. So beware! Otherwise, the ... Read review

A Tough Blender that Crushes Ice at a Great Price
Review of Philips HR1720 by sagitaria

Advantages: Easy to Use, Large Jug, Crushes Ice
Disadvantages: Slightly Noisy

...for a few days, the Philips HR1720/50 seemed to fit the bill. In tests it's proved to be one of the most efficient at blending. I believe there is a more recent model available now, but these can still be purchased online from Philips or Amazon. I bought mine from Argos at a very reasonable £20. Learning how to use it was quite straightforward. It has 2 speeds as well as a pulse setting which is useful for partial blending. I started off by throwing ...
...with an instruction guide as well as a booklet containing various recipes to try out in your new blender. I'd confidently recommend this Philips HR1720/50 to anyone considering buying a new blender. It does what it says at a great price. This review also appears on DooYoo ... Read review

kenwood sb256
Review of Kenwood SB256 by shanewheeler1987

Advantages: very long lasting
Disadvantages: dificult to clean anoying tap feature

Kenwood SB256 is a very good machine with exception to its durability although it holds 1.5 liters during each mix the design is very flimsy looking at the product u get the feeling that it is made out of a metal substance however what you get in fact is very flimsy plastic. the machiene itself on the other hand is very good the mooter is a very powerful one and capable of being put under strain. the only thing that annoyed me about this machiene ...
...it tends to block. takes a while to pour a 500ml smoothie however like a juicer the kenwood sb256 does strain the the seeds so it has an added benefactor to it. if i was going to buy this product i would make sure i look at its flimsiness first. ... Read review

Top gadget for purees, pesto and smoothies
Review of Braun MR4000HC by HelenClarke

Advantages: Easy to use, easy to clean, wall mounted storage
Disadvantages: Small chopping container

If you have a penchant for smoothies or are weaning a baby with fruit and vegetable purees then this is the perfect gadget for you. My fiancee bought this for me last year whilst I was pregnant and craving thick creamy smoothies packed full of fruity loveliness. The tall plastic container is perfect for such a task and using the wand it can turn pretty much any known food stuff into a smooth luscious liquid. The design is such that all contents of ...
...without any spray covering your kitchen. The blender itself has two speed settings so you can slowly pulse or go full throttle for maximum effect. It comes with two attachments, firstly the wand as previously described and then secondly a chopping blade and container when your desired effect is something thicker than a liquid. The chopping container is small but is perfect for making pesto or small quantities of baby puree. All parts are easily ... Read review

Hand blender
Review of Moulinex ADG342 by ashton08

Advantages: Price, easy to clean
Disadvantages: None

I bought this hand blender when I started weaning my baby. I wanted to make his food myself to ensure I knew what went in it, I for some reason have a huge distrust in jarred baby food. I also use it to make myself fruit smoothies which it does brilliantly. I have a large free-standing blender but its an absolute pain in the rear to clean, especially if I'm only blending small amounts of food, well actually even if I am blending alot of food I still ...
...I didn't want anything fancy and I didn't want anything expensive. This suited my requirements perfectly. It is comfortable to use, fitting perfectly into your hand and blends the food up pretty quickly. It has a detachable foot, making it so easy to clean. It is quite small, stores away well. The jug that comes with it is very handy, just the right size. I would definately recommend it. ... Read review
