A great tool that wears out too soon
Review of Braun MR 6550 M BCHC /HCBC Multiquick Pro by vegansophie

Advantages: Highly versatile, excellent blender and good grinder
Disadvantages: Wears out within a year or two of regular use

We love this, especially the grinder that we use every day for linseed for our cereal. The grinder is great for small amounts but only fill it 1/4 full or it bungs up. All the attachments are handy, though we don't use the veg processor bit much as it doesn't work that well - you would be better off with a bigger machine for that. The moving interlocking mechanisms are plastic and this is a real failing - they simply wear down and wear out. We're ... Read review

Smoothilicious!
Review of Kenwood SB 307 Smoothie PRO by fightgear

Advantages: great quality, good service, powerful, tap, stirrer, cool looks
Disadvantages: jug cracked after 4 months, base can be stiff

...paid about £60 for the Kenwood after shopping around for a while. The first thing you notice is how heavy it is. The jug is thick glass and the base is metal. Inside is a 700 watt powerful motor which will happily crush ice and decimate most vegetables and fruit. The front of the machine has three buttons. On the right of the machine is the 'mix' and 'smooth' options (basically fast and faster). These are 'clickable' so they will stay on when you ...
...habit its okay. The Kenwood comes with a small booklet on different mixes for fruit juices and smoothies but I'd advise getting a proper book as there are some really good ones on the market. As I said, we use this every day and its never let us down or shown any signs of doing so except for the cracked jug. We are okay about this because the service we got from Kenwood after 4 months use was such that we have confidence in the product and the ... Read review

Advantages: Blending goodness
Disadvantages: Blending badness

Having had this brought for me as a present over a year ago i have to give it to this mighty machine its still as powerfull and usfull as the day i unwrapped it. THE LOOK: Very chic in silver and black this blender (WELL YOU COULD ALMOST CLASS IT AS A POWER TOOL) looks fab on anyone kitchen surface esp mine. Silver casing black buttons, and plastic mixing jug. USEABILITY: I use mine most days, not just for smoothys but for many other blender useages(WE ...
...MUCH MORE IN IT) this machine is one powerfull contraption. Frozen friut, bread to make breadcrumbs, ice, food for the kids when they were smaller, cheese sauces etc. Its simple to use, the plastic jug and the stiring pole at the top they all come apart for cleaning. The tap on the front lets you pour out your juice/smoothy and with the different buttons you can make things chunky /smooth depending on how you like your drinks. CLEANING IT: This ... Read review

More then just a Blender
Review of Breville VBL011/BL19/BL34 by innercircle

Advantages: Does everything: Purees/Smoothies/Chops/Batters
Disadvantages: Noisy

 INTELLIGENT BLENDER - BREVILLE  Right last week I intended to start my new healthy diet by eating at least five fruit and vegetables a day instead of five bars of chocolate a day, yeah right ok lets start of slowly lets reduce the choc intake and gain the fruit intake so I’ve purchased a blender to start making my own smoothies and soups – this way I’m guaranteed to get my five a day. Antony Worrall Thompson intelligent blender ...
...and compact (well I think so) and fits great in any kitchen corner and is on show in my kitchen so its more likely to be used daily then if it’s shoved in the cupboard and not used at all.  ABOUT THE BLENDER  The toughened plastic jug is a 1.5 litre jug and also gives metric measurements on the side of the jug such as 1 to 6 cups & 500ml to 1500ml. The lid also comes complete with a removable measuring cup, I find this useful when ... Read review

Health in a glass
Review of Kenwood SB307 by jm160

Advantages: Everlasting, tough as old boots, reassuringly heavy and very chic.
Disadvantages: Cleaning it is like nailing a jelly onto a wall - a bit hard and tedious

The first thing you notice about this blender is its sheer, incredible weight. With a chunky glass jug and solid stainless-steel base, it feels expensive, solid and professional. I chose it because all of the appliances in my kitchen are chrome and it matches really well with the general scheme. But as well as being very beautiful, it is without a shadow of a doubt the best blender I've ever owned. The blades are still as sharp as the day I got it; ...
...problems and, If you aren't very careful, you can still cut yourself on them when you're cleaning it. But I don't only use it for smoothies... it also does a great line in soups and cocktails... so when you've finished being healthy, you can get steaming drunk! Its only bad point in cleaning - the tap at the bottom has no problems with thin fluids like orange juice but has trouble coping with chunky or gloopy stuff like banana based smoothies. If ...
