Smoothilicious!
Review of Kenwood SB 307 Smoothie PRO by fightgear

Advantages: great quality, good service, powerful, tap, stirrer, cool looks
Disadvantages: jug cracked after 4 months, base can be stiff

...paid about £60 for the Kenwood after shopping around for a while. The first thing you notice is how heavy it is. The jug is thick glass and the base is metal. Inside is a 700 watt powerful motor which will happily crush ice and decimate most vegetables and fruit. The front of the machine has three buttons. On the right of the machine is the 'mix' and 'smooth' options (basically fast and faster). These are 'clickable' so they will stay on when you ...
...habit its okay. The Kenwood comes with a small booklet on different mixes for fruit juices and smoothies but I'd advise getting a proper book as there are some really good ones on the market. As I said, we use this every day and its never let us down or shown any signs of doing so except for the cracked jug. We are okay about this because the service we got from Kenwood after 4 months use was such that we have confidence in the product and the ... Read review

Health in a glass
Review of Kenwood SB307 by jm160

Advantages: Everlasting, tough as old boots, reassuringly heavy and very chic.
Disadvantages: Cleaning it is like nailing a jelly onto a wall - a bit hard and tedious

The first thing you notice about this blender is its sheer, incredible weight. With a chunky glass jug and solid stainless-steel base, it feels expensive, solid and professional. I chose it because all of the appliances in my kitchen are chrome and it matches really well with the general scheme. But as well as being very beautiful, it is without a shadow of a doubt the best blender I've ever owned. The blades are still as sharp as the day I got it; ...
...problems and, If you aren't very careful, you can still cut yourself on them when you're cleaning it. But I don't only use it for smoothies... it also does a great line in soups and cocktails... so when you've finished being healthy, you can get steaming drunk! Its only bad point in cleaning - the tap at the bottom has no problems with thin fluids like orange juice but has trouble coping with chunky or gloopy stuff like banana based smoothies. If ... Best buy as a new mum
Review of Kenwood HB 655 by sca04

Advantages: Quick and simple to use. Blends most foods even red meats.
Disadvantages: Can be fiddly to clean

I bought this when I was weaning my 6 month baby boy and I must admit it has revolutionised my life. I am puree mad and everything goes in there from fruit to red meat! It is very simple to master, instructions are provided but to be honest you can pick up the blender and use straight away. The smaller blade in the chopping bowl can be fiddly to clean but you can always pop it in the dishwasher. I also found the chopping bowl can miss chunks of food, ...
...all gets blitzed. One tip: when blending use a dish/container deep enough, because as my kitchen walls have learnt it can tend to spray out. Nevertheless this has been one of my best buys as a new mum and does get used on a daily basis. It has 2 speeds and this is ample to blend even red meat. ... Read review

A great tool that wears out too soon
Review of Braun MR 6550 M BCHC /HCBC Multiquick Pro by vegansophie

Advantages: Highly versatile, excellent blender and good grinder
Disadvantages: Wears out within a year or two of regular use

We love this, especially the grinder that we use every day for linseed for our cereal. The grinder is great for small amounts but only fill it 1/4 full or it bungs up. All the attachments are handy, though we don't use the veg processor bit much as it doesn't work that well - you would be better off with a bigger machine for that. The moving interlocking mechanisms are plastic and this is a real failing - they simply wear down and wear out. We're ... Read review

The way to wear your smoothie!
Review of Kenwood BL 440 by SusanLesley

Advantages: Great blender, good price, looks classy
Disadvantages: Care needs to be taken when unscrewing the jug.

...look there and found a Kenwood BL440 which was a blender with a grinder attachment and was just £20. This was ideal for me - I didn't want to pay a fortune for a 'smoothie maker' when this would do the job just as well and I got a grinder as a bonus! The blender has a generous one and a half litre jug with twin speeds and a pulse feature so that you can give you control over the amount of time the blender is operating - for making pates etc. where ...
...small basic unit with stainless steel blades ideal for grinding coffee or chopping nuts. I haven't actually used the grinder on this particular model yet but have used them on other models in the past and have found them quick and efficient. The blender is white with an 'ergonomically designed handle' which is basically a handle that is easy to grip so that you can twist the blender to lock it on the base or remove it from the same. The acrylic ... Read review
