Philips HR1372 Great Product
Advantages: Easy to use, quick, sturdy and stylish. Disadvantages: None that I can think of
The Philips HR 1372 is possibly one of the best hand - held blenders around at the moment and I am delighted to be the first to review it. You can purchase this from Amazon for £59.29, but I managed to find a very good deal on it approximately 10 months ago for which I paid just £35.00. Having a look around is a must! I had never previously owned any type of hand blender before so I must admit, when it arrived, I was somewhat confused as to why the ... ...results are great - in-fact Philips state that it gives you professional results, I really can't argue with that. Cakes turn out so light and fluffy, like they're supposed to as you manage to get so much more air into the mixture than if you were doing it by hand. The first thing I made on receiving this was a very basic packet of Angel delight, I used the whisk attachment for this, the end result was great, it took very little time and came out ...

Kitchen Aid .... possibly the best blender ever??
Advantages: Stlyish, multifunctional, easy to use and clean, built to last Disadvantages: top end price
I have owned my kitchen aid for 6 months now and I can't imagine how I lived in this world without one. This is the only blender I have ever used that is built to withstand the tests of time. It is robust, sturdy but ever so stylish. There are 10 functions in all, including one which crushes ice - a feature many of us dream off but will in all probability never use. It is incredibly easy to clean - which most blenders, really, are not. It is also ...

Kenwood, your a cat saver!
Advantages: Easy to clean, powerful and does the job Disadvantages: A bit noisy
...This Silver and glass Kenwood caught my eye on the shelf out of a list of 30 products on show, it was exactly what I was looking for, a small easy to fit on my already crowded kitchen worktop, easy to use and importantly just the right price ( it was on offer at £35.99 from £59.99).
As soon as I got it home, I put it straight to use, it really is very easy, even for a man like me (well I'm no Gordon Ramsey), just plug it in, put the contents to ... ...Tuna) and away you go.
Now I've never used one of these before so I was a bit confused as to why it wasn't moving so well in the glass bowl, the blades where wizzing around inside but not really doing their job so well.
So I put in some cat milk (don't give your cat cows milk, its not good for them), and hey presto it was churning away ten to the dozen, with it having variable speeds I found this to be a great help, it certainly makes it frothier, ...

Beautiful blender
Advantages: Powerful, with adjustable speed and handy pulse function Disadvantages: Cannot do small quantities
I have had my Kitchen Aid blender for over two years now and use it several times a week. It is great for soups and smoothies and powerful enough to cope with most things - green smoothies, raw carrot, ice cubes...
The variety of settings mean that I can do things such as pasta sauces which I do not necessarily want to be completely lump-free (the pulse function is useful here) or go for a totally smooth texture for milkshakes and smoothies. Also ... ...and rescuing pancake batter ;)
Like most liquidisers this one cannot cope with dry foods, so for coffee beans, nuts, seeds etc you will need a separate grinder, unless you soak them first and/or add liquid. It also struggles with small quantities (less than about half a pint will simply get smeared around the edges of the goblet) so unless you are batch-cooking it's not a good bet for baby food.
The base unit is easy to wipe clean and reassuringly ...

Fantastic Hand Blender/chopper
Advantages: Large containers for blitzing, powerful, variable speeds, pulsing Disadvantages: Quite expensive - around £60
This Braun blender/chopper is fantastic. I have now thrown away my bulky full size processor. It comes with a 1 litre+ jug so I no longer need to process baby food a bit at a time. The jug also has an attachment to crush ice cubes - great for cocktails. There is also a smaller container which is tall & slim to prevent splashback.
The small chopper bowl is great for herbs/garlic. I have now stopped using my garlic press as the chopper is easier to ... ...The metal end of the handblender is stronger then the plastic versions and its design prevents splashing.
All in all this collection of Braun goodies provided me with a flexible tool that is easy to store and easy to use. I use it every day and thoroughly recommend it. ...
