...5 a day and the Kenwood SB 277 has done the trick! The machine itself is quite large but its black and chrome exterior means that it looks good on the kitchen worktop. It is easy to put together. I managed to assemble it fairly quickly. It has a large glass jug (1.5l capacity), which is dishwasher safe. The black lid has a hole with a cap to add ingredients. cheap and nasty

Advantages: incredibly cheap
Disadvantages: noisy, inefficient, leaves lumps

...you pay for. I believe Cookworks have brought out a more recent model which may be better but unless the head in particular has been re-designed I think it will have the same shortcomings. That's really all I have to say but have added this last bit to make up the required length of text! ...
