Great Smoothie Maker
Advantages: High quality, good performance Disadvantages: None!
I bought this smoothie maker a couple of weeks ago, and am very happy with it. It's a nice design with a brushed aluminum base and simple dial. I use it to make fruit, yogurt and ice smoothies, however, you can use it to make margaritas, ice-blended coffees, milk shakes and even soya milk!! (I will explain later). The jug is made of glass, not plastic and can hold up to 1.25 litres. You can put the glass jar, the lid and measuring cup (which fits ... ...not the removable blade). There is a separate filter that you can put in where the measuring cup is kept (not in photo, but it would be in the centre of the jug). This allows you to put fruits that contain seeds or skin that you don't want 'blended' in your smoothie. By using the filter you can also make soya milk! You have to soak the soya beans first then put in the filter to be 'ground' up with water. There are three different buttons: Smoothie, ...

Philips HR1372 Great Product
Advantages: Easy to use, quick, sturdy and stylish. Disadvantages: None that I can think of
The Philips HR 1372 is possibly one of the best hand - held blenders around at the moment and I am delighted to be the first to review it. You can purchase this from Amazon for £59.29, but I managed to find a very good deal on it approximately 10 months ago for which I paid just £35.00. Having a look around is a must! I had never previously owned any type of hand blender before so I must admit, when it arrived, I was somewhat confused as to why the ... ...results are great - in-fact Philips state that it gives you professional results, I really can't argue with that. Cakes turn out so light and fluffy, like they're supposed to as you manage to get so much more air into the mixture than if you were doing it by hand. The first thing I made on receiving this was a very basic packet of Angel delight, I used the whisk attachment for this, the end result was great, it took very little time and came out ...

An easy to use product
Advantages: Easy to use, easy to clean, cheap Disadvantages: None
I bought this hand blender shortly after Christmas in Argos, where I got it for a bargain price. It includes not only a blender, but a measuring cup as well, which is perfect for making smoothies in.
I have had absolutely no problem using this product. It does the job swiftly, as neatly as I suppose it can do, is very easy to clean and even looks quite stylish! It is simple to operate. It works with just a firm click of a button and comes apart ...

cheap and nasty
Advantages: incredibly cheap Disadvantages: noisy, inefficient, leaves lumps
...you pay for. I believe Cookworks have brought out a more recent model which may be better but unless the head in particular has been re-designed I think it will have the same shortcomings. That's really all I have to say but have added this last bit to make up the required length of text! ...

Blitz, Whizz and Watch Your Fingers.
Advantages: Multipurpose and easy to store Disadvantages: No pulse button
...deal on a range of Breville blenders. Anyway after deliberation we opted for the VHB027 Hand Blender Set at £23, it was nicely discounted and seemed just what we needed. After we got it home it was time to get it out of the box and try it. The blender itself is quite light about 12 inches long and easy to clean. It has two buttons normal and turbo but no pulse. The chopper attachment is extremely sharp so be careful when you wash it my other half ... ...and she cut her finger while washing it. It can hold and chop about 2 onions at a time along with other herbs with ease, chopping was something that the old liquidiser could not do and it is such a pleasure to not do it by hand. It takes a couple of short bursts of 2 seconds to end up with finely chopped onions without the tears. Can the blender blend? Yes it can. As the next experiment we decided to make Carrot and Coriander soup. My other half ...
