Marvellous Margarita Maker
Review of Philips HR2094 by joaries

Advantages: Powerful and well designed - pretty blue lights on the dial!
Disadvantages: Doesn't make the ice powdery enough

...manufacturing! On taking the Philips HR2094 out of the packaging it was immediately appealing due to it's sturdy yet contemporary design. Once you're ready to set it to work, in addition to the manual "min - max" dial settings, there are three specific settings you can use at the press of a button: ice, smoothie and pulse. The smoothie setting blends your chosen ingredients swiftly and with great results, any extra oomph you require can be easily ...
...only downside I'm still getting to grips with is the ice function, which whilst managing to chip the ice perfectly adequately, doesn't turn it into the snowy texture I prefer, I realise though this is purely my preference. Overall, I'd say that I'm pleased with this blender, ice texture aside! ... Read review

Useful good quality blender.
Review of Philips HR1780 by Happychap

Advantages: Lot's of settings and strong glass jug
Disadvantages: Settings do not differ too much variation

I bought this blender off of e-bay and didn't really know what to expect. When it arrived I was very impressed with the strong glass jug and the easy clean setting which meant it didn't need a thorough washing after each use. It has a number of settings you can chose randing from fruits to nuts and eggs. The only disappoint with the settings is that they only vary in the continuous speed or pulse whereas some blenders on the market will have a ... Read review

Sturdy at the base but the Jug is weak
Review of Kenwood SB 307 Smoothie PRO by Jammie87

Advantages: Looks, Motor, Spout
Disadvantages: Glass Jug, Price

Bought this for around £50 and was initially impressed with its features but ultimately i was unimpressed with it's durability. The motor is very strong and can crush ice/oats and fruit/veg easily but i found that the glass jug, while very strong and heavy, was still prone to cracking when it contained a lot of liquid. After about 6 months of use the glass jug began to crack around the handle, meaning you couldn't fill up the jug all the way when ... Read review

Kenwood could to better.
Review of Kenwood SB256 by HBForth

Advantages: Quite powerful for the price, affordable, good number of setting, pouring tap
Disadvantages: not very durable, not the easiest thing to clean thoroughly.

We bought this smoothie maker to help my husband become healthier and for me to enjoy fruit in a different way. Overall, it's not a bad product and it's generally quite powerful. I think I bought it for about £37 from Currys but I have since bought a different one by a different manufacturer which was only £10 dearer but the jug was made of glass not plastic and actually, the difference this makes is quite significant. Firstly, the glass is easier ...
...get a bit of friction which wears out quite quickly. It's got a good capacity but the hand mixer doesn't reach as far down to the bottom of the jug as I'd like. We used it twice a day and within about a month it was beginning to feel worn. The other problem is that if you use it, you must clean it thoroughly, particularly the pouring tap. It comes unscrewed but this isn't enough to really clean it inside. The same problem applies to the rest of ... Read review
