Cookworks glass blender
Review of Cookworks Silver Glass Blender by amyjaney

Advantages: Great value for money
Disadvantages: Doesn't have as many features as some of the more expensive ones

Very good value for money. I didn't want something cheap looking but also knew I wouldn't use a blender loads so didn't want to spend a fortune. I went for the glass jug and chrome effect and I think it looks just as good as a lot of the dearer ones. Easy to clean, you just rinse it out and then put the blender on with a little bit of clean water in the bottom to clean the blades. I like the fact that the jug is glass not plastic as feels more durable ...
...used it for soups and smoothies and have no complaints. The first time I used it the soup splattered out of the lid with the pressure so I don't fill it too high now and hold the top down with a tea towel. Has two speeds and a pulse button so you can vary accordance to preference. ... Read review

How to blend in and be smooth
Review of Bush HB005 by steffiw

Advantages: Cheap price, glass jug
Disadvantages: Plastic parts in the locking mechanism can break off

...in Sainsburys and noticed the Bush HB005 blender at just £19.99 in the kitchen appliance section. With its squat, rounded chrome-effect base and tall clear glass jug it looked stylish in a retro sort of way and with its powerful 400 watt motor and a glass jug rather than a plastic one, I thought it was great value so it went into my trolley. Although there were much cheaper blenders (including one for just £11.99), there were much more expensive ...
...the under £20 price range with a glass jug. A glass jug is particularly useful because of its strength and durability. If you are using the blender for smoothies, or for any recipe involving crushing ice (and just to be clear, this model has blades that CAN crush ice), a glass jug is a much better option, as it won't scratch or crack like plastic might. And whilst a scratched plastic blender jug does look unsightly, it also makes cleaning more difficult ... Read review

Soft and smoothie just llike me.
Review of Russell Hobbs Yawye Smoothie Maker by sparkled_pixie

Advantages: Easy tp use, ice crushing facility,
Disadvantages: None I have found

...myself. I purchased the Russell Hobbs Yawye Smoothie Maker because it primarily looked uncomplicated. It seems smoothie making machines come in all different shapes and sizes and their ease of use is also quite widely spread between never understanding it and very easy and I opted for very easy. In looks this smoothie maker looks like a blender and essentially that is what a smoothie maker is, a glorified blending machine except it is a smoothie ...
...The practical side of this Russell Hobbs smoothie maker is that it is 600 Watts and has a capacity to hold 1.7 litres of fluids, which is actually quite a lot, whilst making a decision as to which smoothie maker to buy it would seem that the fluid capacity ranged from 1.2 litres to 2 litres, the latter being part of a huge machine. Inside the glass jug, which is nestled on top of the base are the stainless steel blades, again like the ones you would ... Read review

Philips Blender
Review of Philips HR1757 by thespurs

Advantages: Looks great, top quality, safe, large capacity
Disadvantages: None

...*Manual/Instructions* In my experience, Philips have always provided a superb instruction booklet with all of their products. The manual for this particular blender is very well laid out and organised. It easy to identify your problem in the manual and find a solution to it. The contents have been logically organised which makes life very easy for the user. Each of the different functions are clearly described in the manual and pretty much everything ...
...quality of the Philips brand name, which is both reliable and top quality. I would certainly go and by this if you want a top quality blender for a low price. This would also be the ideal wedding present if you are going to any weddings in the near future, ... Read review

I love smoothies!
Review of Moulinex DAE241 by ephem

Advantages: Easy clean, easy to use
Disadvantages: heavy jug, but it's glass

I got this for Xmas, and it's definitely the best present I got! Technically I'm on my second one because one of the plastic bits that attaches the blade to the jug broke, meaning that when I mixed things it tended to drip out of the bottom! Thankfully argos changed this for me and I've not had a problem with it. This could be a design/manufacturing fault, or it could be that (as it was the first time I used it) I didn't put it together properly ...
...one (yes, I get to choose my own xmas presents!, well only one or two of them) becasue I didn't want one that has a tap as they're a pain to clean. This one's easy - twist the top and back bit (on mine it's grey for some reason,in the pic) and it comes off from the base, twist the blade attachment (in side the black bit) and this comes off, making an easy clean blender! The blender has 2 speeds, one for mixing juices and another for actual blending. ... Read review
