Advantages: An entertaining, light read
Disadvantages: Will not appeal to many even some science fiction fans.

I do not always read new books. Sometimes I read older books. Ones that were published several years ago but by authors I like and have finally tracked down a copy. Such a book is this one. Briefly the story:- An alien race has desires on our planet. An easy way of fighting an interstellar war is to capture several of the natives, exhaustively study them and then to tailor a biological weapon. One that works rather slowly so that the enemy dies ...
...machinery rather than have a catastrophic failure or have to damage any infrastructure yourself with various explosive devices. But there may be side effects with bio-weapons. So best to take plenty of time so that all should be cleared up before you arrive. But overnight something has happened to mankind. At least two thirds of the population has vanished in very strange circumstances. Cars are smashed on roads but are empty, their drivers nowhere ... Read review
