Bliss is one of those brands constantly hyped up in beauty magazines, so as you can imagine, I was desperate to try them! However, the outrageous prices meant that I couldn't justify that until I saw a gift set on offer filled with trial size products all for just £20 - bargain! Foot Patrol was one product that I was really keen to try as I tend to suffer from very dry and cracked feet with lots of hard skin on the soles.
Foot Patrol contains 10% salicyclic acid which helps to exfoliate away dead skin, as well as containing lots of softening oils to make your feet super soft, peppermint to soothe aching feet and aloe to destress. Packaging, as with all Bliss products, is functional, with a flip top lid and the standard turquoise blue colour scheme.
You only need a small amount to rub into each foot, about the size of two peas. The lotion is a light blue colour and feels really rich and silky in your hand and not at all oily as so many foot lotions do. As soon as you rub it in you can smell the peppermint, which is really soothing. I have to admit that I'm not a massive fan of peppermint for foot lotions as I find it's a bit unoriginal (there are other smells out there!) but it's not too strong and doesn't linger for long. It's easily absorbed into the skin within a couple of minutes, but make sure you wait those couple of minutes unless you want to be slipping all over your wooden floors like I did! Just lie back and relax as those essential oils do their work! It leaves your feet feeling lovely and smooth and very refreshed. I've been using my trial size 30ml tube for 3 weeks now and have definitely noticed the hard skin on my feet is noticeably softened and my feet are generally in much better condition.
I do love the fact that this works to exfoliate without any of the harsh scrubbing of a pumice stone as my feet are quite delicate and don't appreciate any rough scrubbing!
However, the price of this really is what puts me off buying a full size version - at £20 for a 125ml tube, it really is expensive. Admittedly it does seem to last for a while - I still have what feels like over half of my 75ml tube left after 3 weeks of everyday use, but while it is certainly a very good product, I find that there are other foot creams that do a very similar job for far more reasonable prices - in particular, Soap and Glory's Heel Genius which is made by Marcia Kilgore, the lady behind Bliss, and if you cast your eye down and compare the ingredients list for these two products, you'll notice they contain very similar things (in particular the fruit acids) but with the Soap and Glory version costing a quarter of the price and I'm happy to confirm achieves exactly the same result!
