May not be as bliss as it used to be

Advantages: Small, good light read.

The Best Feeling In The World...

Advantages: Lots of different sections, mix of serious and fun.
Disadvantages: Not a lot of free stuff.

Well, that's how Bliss describes itself anyway. Bliss is a magazine aimed at teenage girls. It is a mix of serious and fun. I would say it was aimed at girls of about 13-16, yet I have known a few of my boy mates to take a sneaky peek when they thought I wasn't looking ;) Bliss is out monthly, usually around the fifth of each month. I subscribe to it, which cost about £20 for a year. This means I get my Bliss 1 or 2 days earlier than it hits the ...
...Superdrugs. You will recognise Bliss by the size of it. It's really small, about half the size of your average magazine. I would think one of the most important things about a magazine is its front cover, it needs to be eyecatching, and attractive to the buyer. Bliss is definately eyecatching. The word 'BLISS' is written in a colourful colour, often pink or orange. On the cover is a picture of a star that features in an interview in that issue of ...

Not bad as magazines go

Advantages: Easy reading, nice to relax with
Disadvantages: too many ads, quite expensive

Bliss is a fairly average teenage girls mag. It's A5 sized but comes in a large plastic package which i personally think is a waste of resources and also crackles very loudly, so if you are going to read the magazine on a bus or in a library I would advise you to take off the packaging first if you're easily embarassed like me! The current price is about £2.20, which is in the usual range for magazines of this type but is a bit steep considering ...
...usually 150 - 170 pages. The mag always comes with a free gift, sometimes makeup or a bag, but recently for some reason a lot of the gifts have been "minimags" about fashion or something. This is a big step down and has put me off the magazine a bit since the free gift used to at least be mildly interesting and the minimags are quite frankly not all that good. On the first double spread is usually an ad and then a note from the editor and contents; ...

Ah Bliss!

Advantages: Has various sections, aimed at teenagers
Disadvantages: nothing

Issued monthly, Bliss is a magazine for girls, covering topical issues. Fashion is a vast inclusion in the publication, picturing famous faces and their styles, giving comments (good and bad!), stating where and at what price the clothes were and can be bought, as well as giving general fashion tips. The November 2003 issue featured stars such as Beyonce Knowles, Tara Palmer Tompinkson and Jordan. As with any typical girls mag, Bliss also has a focus ...
...It is worth noting that Bliss does provide a ‘Need help?’ box at the foot of the page, giving details of an appropriate charity/organisation. In this particular feature the Youth Information and Advice Service was printed. Bliss places a spotlight on health, and in particular sex issues. Giving real-life accounts and information about STD’s (Sexually Transmitted Diseases), sexual problems and relationship issues. Again, here Bliss provides information ...

Advantages: Very helpful and fun to read

...MY 'Bliss' to read! It was jammed packed full of FREE coupons and bargains that I'd always use every Saturday when I went shopping with my mates! It had all the problem pages which I'd always read FIRST! Bliss magazine it is most of the time

Advantages: Good, informative articles
Disadvantages: Too many adverts, sometimes too much on pop stars

Bliss magazine is a monthly magazine for teenage girls. At £1.90 some may say it's not worth it, but I enjoy it. It contains problem pages, gossip pages on stars, fashion pages, reviews and serious articles. So there is a wide range of subjects featured in the magazine. There is also a letters page where readers can voice their opinions on practically anything (one reader wrote a letter sticking up for Nasty Nick from the hit tv gameshow Big Brother! I'm not sure I agree with that one!) An example of a serious article is one which was about sisters who kill, this was very informative (stating that violence is wrong). Bliss includes articles about stars such as Craig David, All Saints, Eminem and more. It is great for teenagers because they can keep up with all the gossip, get help by reading problems they can relate to ...
