...I decided to try-out a Blistex product that I had not seen before. I have generally been delighted with most of their other items so trusting the brand I purchased Lip Splash Liquid Lip Moisturiser.

Packaging
Comes with a small outer box with a picture of a set of lips and the words drench on the front. Packaging states New product with lip splash liquid moisturiser. The product itself is in a small compact little bottle with a silver roller-ball applicator. There is also a screw top cap which closes securely. There is 4mls of product in the bottle.
I was fortunate enough last year to be able to go skiing to Courchevel in the French alps over Christmas. Well it's useful when you have a big sister who lives and works out there!!! I know how cold it can get while on the mountain and as I am prone to getting very dry and chapped lips I decided to try-out a Blistex product that I had not seen before. I have generally been delighted with most of their other items so trusting the brand I purchased Lip Splash Liquid Lip Moisturiser.
The Product
The manufacturers claim that this product can rehydrate and re-moisturise lips by soaking them in Lip Splash Liquid Balm. The balm is apparently full of deep, penetrating moisturisers, which leave the lips looking smooth and healthy. It also has a Sun Protection Factor of 15.
Application
Using the roller-ball apply a generous helping of lip spash to the lips ensuring that they are completely saturated. Re-apply the product frequently when exposed to cold, dry or sunny environments.
Compact design handy for keeping in a small pocket, smells fruity quite pleasant really. Initially coats the lips and cools and calms them when feeling chapped. SPF 15 so protects the lips in warm weather.
Disadvantages
Application feels very strange as the roller-ball is cold. Product does not stay on for long and has to be re-applied about every ten minutes. Therefore not suitable for wearing during sporting activities. Feels more like a lip-gloss than a lip protector. Tastes revolting if you forget you have it on and lick your lips. Not that great value for money either.
Overall Result
Very disappointed with this product, not what you would expect from Blistex, more of a fashion accessory than a serious lip protector. I would therefore rate this 3 out of 5 as there are much better products produced by this brand name that I would choose before this one. As for does it make the lips look healthy. Cant answer this as it doesnt stay on long enough to find out!!!
Advantages: Tastes great, look like lip gloss, nice packaging and metal rollerball Disadvantages: Doesnt really moisturise, needs to frequently reapply
...day but instead stumbled upon Blistex Drench - my lips were dry and the 'drench' 'lip splash' certainly enticed me. So at a price of £2.99 from Superdrugs, I purchased it.
Like any other Blistex products, it has great packaging and can certainly persuade you to purchase it with the image of nice healthy lips on the front. This lip splash comes with a unique metal rollerback application which you simply roll along to use and will instantly soothe ... ...never use too much - just make sure you keep it on your lips and dont accidentally roll it down to your chin! Thankfully though, Lip Splash isn't sticky and is in fact like a real liquid, so if you make a mess, it is easy to clean up.
When you finally open the packaging, inside is a small, light tube, around 2 1/2 inches long filled with the 'moisturising liquid'. After carrying it around in my bag for a while, I've found that it also doesn't leak ...

Advantages: Sweet taste and smell, cooling metal ball soothes lips, light liquid Disadvantages: Doesn't last very long, doesn't moisturise like it states
...Benzyl Benzoate. Contains Oxybenzone. Blistex Lip Splash Liquid Lip Moisturiser comes in cardboard packaging, as a roll on. Personally, I don't think the cardboard packaging is necessary, but I'd heard good things about this product, so I decided to purchase it. The roll on comes in a 4ml tube, which is quite small and didn't last me a very long time. This might be because I had to reapply it so often, because it really doesn't stay put for very ... ...minutes. However, it's very nice when it does last and I actually found it quite addicting to keep putting on because it smelt and tasted so nice. The taste is quite sweet and refreshing and the other nice thing about this product is that because of the metal roller ball, it feels cool as you apply it to your lips. Some people may not like this, but personally I find it refreshing and soothing. The gloss is like a liquid and very light - it's not ...

Advantages: Great value for money, great taste and packaging Disadvantages: May have to reapply as it is quite "light" on your lips
...decided to try out the Blistex version. I love it's packaging with the word "Drench" on the front and "splash" on the tube, as this was the exact effect I wanted.
I had found that other lipbalms did not suit me, for example, Carmex was too solid and waxy, so this seemed ideal for me - a cross between gloss and balm.
The tube itself is pretty small (about 2 1/2 inches) and lightweight, making it the ideal size to shove into your pocket or handbag. ... ...hot conditions) or leak (as some lip glosses do over time).
The metal ball is a great idea, as it is cold and instantly cools your lips down if they are sore. Although it can make neat application a little bit difficult as it tends to slip. I found that it's difficult to tell how much you've put on your lips until you blott them together. Sounds strange, but it's very light, which is ideal for those who can't stand sticky, heavy gloss/balm.

Advantages: Nice feel and fragrance... Disadvantages: Doesn't really moisturise, neither gloss nor balm!
...Thats why I bought Blistex lip splash. It advertises itself as a 'liquid lip moisturiser' and has a unique metal rollerball for application. It is light feeling (not like a balm or gloss), smells great (slightly minty but not overpowering) and is supposed to deliver a drenching dose of moisturisation.
SO DOES IT WORK??
Well, it does all the stuff I have just said and furthermore looks quite nice on your lips (not shiny but slightly wet-look) and ... ...it doesn't seem to moisturise well. Now, call me crazy but isn't that the whole point of a lip moisturiser?!
If I wanted gloss or colour I'd use a cosmetic product like a gloss or lipstick. So, ultimately, even though it feels and looks nice, its probably not worth the effect.
It isnt going to break the bank at around £2.59 but it is more gimmick than substance. I find a pot of vaseline will moisturise much more effectively (for a lot less money).

Advantages: It makes lips look shiny. Feels refreshing when applying. Disadvantages: Wears off really quickly and left lips feeling even drier.
...lips feel dry. I've used Blistex before and find it quite good so when I saw they'd bought out this product I had to try it.
The packaging is great. It's a thin little tube and you apply the liquid inside with a small metal rollerball. As you put the product on it really feels refreshing and moisturising. It has a pleasant and subtle fragrance. As yet the packaging hasn't leaked in my bag which is always a plus with liquid products and glosses etc.
... ...good selling point but unlike other sun protection lip products I have tried this is just a clear colourless liquid. I was disapointed by this product as the name 'lip splash' and the big 'Drench' on the outer packaging sounded promising in the moisturising department. The packaging describes it as a 'Liquid Lip Moisturiser' which I guess it is but it only lasts about 10 minutes before it's all worn off - even when I hadn't drunk or eaten with it ...
