    Advantages Advantages The stories are quite good

    A few years ago, when I was suffering from a bout of insomnia, I got the idea that playing spoken word tapes whilst I was trying to sleep might help me to drift off. I soon owned a couple of "Red Dwarf" tapes, one read by Chris Barrie, and one by Craig Charles, both actors and, in the case of Chris Barrie, a skilled mimic. So when I happened upon "Blood and Smoke", promising three of his own stories read by Stephen King, who I have long been a huge fan of, I snapped it up immediately.     Advantages Advantages If you drive alot you can still enjoy a great King story

    Disadvantages Disadvantages One of the stories let it down, but the other two were great.

    This audio book contains three stories, and Stephen King's recognisable style of writing shines through and is especially evident with King reading them himself. You realise how deliberate and descriptive his prose can be and there's something appealing about the sound of King speaking as though through his nose and the slight accents he adopts for his characters when necessary. King doesn't just read the stories he puts life into the characters and you know that the characters you are imagining are much closer to how the author imagine them than if you had been reading it yourself (if you see ... more

    I personal love books, i know it makes me sound like a right book worm, and I'm proud of it to. and Blood and Smoke is really good for an audio book. Mr king is a great author and having him narrate this book himself is GREAT!!! It consists of three short stories of thrill and chills ,called 1408,In the death room and lunch at Gotham cafe. that are linked by one thing smoking. It is truly full of uncut horror i could not turn it off listening to it had me on the end of my seat just waiting to hear what happens next. If you are new to reading Mr king i advise you this is not for the faint ... more
