Advantages Advantages Lovely delicate aroma and flavour

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not available in all the supermarkets, no website for Blossom Hill

I don’t intend on writing many opinions in the food and drink section, but the times when I dabble there I hope to recommend a few of my favourite treats. This wine is my favourite and comes highly recommended. In fact, as I am writing this I am doing the sniff and spit routine of testing wine (ok, I don’t spit, I swallow – no rude comments please!). I like all of Blossom Hill’s wines – they all seem rather too easy to consume and thus, a bottle is empty before you know it! Unfortunately I couldn’t find much information about the Blossom Hill Winery – ... more

Advantages Advantages A really light, fruity wine

Disadvantages Disadvantages Goes down too easily

To be honest, I don't really enjoy the taste of alcohol. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy having a drink and the feeling of being drunk, but I am very limited to what I can drink and actually enjoy. This wine is by far my favourite and I would highly recommend it to people, even people that don't particularly like wine! I went to an Anne Summers party a couple of years back and this was the only drink on offer, of course, not wanting to be rude, I had a glass… and then several more followed. Blossom Hill Unfortunately Blossom Hill do not have a website so I am unable to give you any sort of ... more

If you are one of many who think that pink wine is for pussy’s think again, Blossom hill white zinfandel stands out amongst the crowd. Blossom Hill is a fantastic wine from the sun kissed coasts of California. ~ PACKAGING ~ The bottle has taken a face-lift in the past year and now is modern and up to date. Starting at the top of the bottle the cork has the good old name of Blossom Hill wrapped round it, the main label is a two-tone red effect with B/H on it. The description label is in trendy silver with White Zinfandel on the top with the year under it, below that a small description of the ... more

Advantages Advantages Pleasant if somewhat sweet rose wine

Blossom Hill White Zinfandel Blossom Hill is a wine producing company from California and it was in the USA that I first tried this wine. EMBARRASSING DISCOVERY We were in Yellowstone and I picked this wine from the wine list expecting a white wine. They brought me this rose wine and so I called the waiter back and said that I had asked for the white Zinfandel and he very sweetly explained that this was indeed the White Zinfandel and it is a pink wine! I did feel a bit of a ninny and apologised for my stupidity! Why would a company cause confusion by making a rose wine and then calling it ... more

Advantages Advantages Wonderful flavour, very drinkable

Disadvantages Disadvantages None obvious, other than being an expensive habit!

Just to clarify the situation, before I launch into the opinion, I asked Ciao to add a category for “Stowells White Zinfandel” but they’ve added the Blossom Hill variety instead. Having regularly drunk (yes, I’m regularly drunk!) both varieties I will refer to both in this opinion but it is chiefly about the Stowells variety. Well, small details aside, let’s get on with it! I confess to being a “born again” wine lover! Back in my teens and twenties I was a stout, bitter, vodka and lager drinker (not all mixed together!) but since about a year ago come Christmas I’ve become addicted to the joys ... more

Does it remind you of champagne?

I just had a glass of what I was told was Blossom Hill White Zinfandel but it tasted more like champagne to me. It was bubbly, effervescent and the flavor of a light beer. The color was a true cherry like rose. . I immediately asked if there was a mistake because I've never had white zinfandel taste quite like this! I was assured it was, but after reading these reviews I have my doubts. I'd like to hear what others think.
