Advantages: Great looking, fantastic picture quality and value for money. Reputable and reliable brand. Disadvantages: The shiny and glossy appearance dust show the dust so get the duster out between films!

As we have come to expect from Samsung, the BD-P1600 is black and glossy. This looks fantastic although you'll need to dust it regularly to keep it looking crisp and clean. Just ask the missus to do it - simple! No, I didn't mean that.

Only ... ...if you prefer, purchase a Samsung usb dongle and connect wirelessly via a wi-fi connection, or upgrade via a disc. You can access the BD Live servce and extra bonuses on certain discs via the internet connection. There are 2 USB slots included with this player which is a brilliant addition believe me. You can connect other devices such as USB memory drives to add to the 256mb internal memory, or as mentioned above - the wi-fi dongle.

Review of Samsung BD-P1600
Advantages: nice clear playback and sound, slim and compact unit Disadvantages: No HDMI cable in box, disc loading take a few seconds
Bought this Blu Ray player to hook up to a 2nd TV, as we already have a PS3, but wanted to replace a really old DVD player. Unit is a similar size to a normal DVD Player but is slimmer and should fit in most cabinets nice and snug. It's a breeze to set up, although you don't get a HDMI cable in the box, so make sure you have one before you set up. In my opinion you don't need to spend a lot of money on a cable, ours cost us £10.99. The first Blu ... ...say the picture is really impressive and the sound is nice and loud, even coming through the TV speakers. Upscaling of DVD's is lovely and clear. Remote control is nice and easy to use. There are lots of features on this unit, it plays regular CD's, as well as MP3 files from a CD, DVD or USB device. Found it a bit strange that the open close button is on the very right of the unit though. I would definitely recommend this player for really clear ...

...all you must realize that sony is the king of the ring when it come to blu-ray player with the ps3 really breaking the blu-ray into mass market. I am pleased to say the there new model lives up to expectation and renews the boundries of video quality. The remote has good functionalities and is easy to use while set up is relatively simple.
