All round I found this soup a disappointing experience. It was actually pleasant enough taste-wise, and filling, but there is no way I would buy it again, not even at that reduced price as it’s far too expensive for what it is.

Won Ton soup is a clear Chinese soup with vegetables in noodle parcels floating in it. The more culturally educated amongst you may also remember it as being the recipe which was contained in the microchip at the centre of Disney’s One Of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing. The packaging describes it as “bitesize parcels filled with a selection of vegetables in an authentic oriental soup”. Let’s examine this statement in detail and compare it with reality:
"bitesize parcels…".the bite of an elephant maybe! There were five HUGE noodle parcels in the tin, each of which took four slurpy inelegant bites to eat, whereas the front of the tin showed elegant little parcels. Ok, so they’re not scrimping on content and the high quantity of noodles makes it filling but I do think they’re misdescribing it.
"filled with a selection of vegetables…".hardly! There were some mashed up vegetables between each layer of noodle, and a few green bits floating in the soup. The tin claims that 9.4% of the ingredients are vegetables – not an impressively high figure. However it doesn’t specify what the vegetables are and I can’t say there were in a fit state to be identified.
"in an authentic oriental soup…".having not been to china I can’t verify this. I can only say that the soup was lacking in flavour and lightly greasy. It’s very similar to the soup that Blue Dragon instant noodle packets make up into.

Advantages: Low in fat and calories, tasty, filling Disadvantages: little bit expensive
This soup is tasty, low in caories and fat and extremely filling. It is not often that you can find a food product that reaches this criteria. Although it is a little expensive for canned soup it is worthwhile as a healthy treat. It was £0.98 at one of the larger supermarkets and seems to becoming more readily available in most supermarkets.
The won tons are large and although do not contain visible vegetables it was ideal for vegetarians as it ...

Advantages: Filling , low calorie & low in Carbs Disadvantages: A bit pricey - can't afford to buy it on a daily basis...needs more ZEST!
If your main aim is to fillup on a low calorie soup (and don't want salad) this is by far an excellent choice. I wouldn't catgeorise it as a nutritious soup though..its bland but very filling. The 5 parcels with teeny minced veggies are worth the money yet can do more zest ..maybe a little lemongrass flavor or ginger wouldn't harm! I added a bit of lemon to it. They are great to fillup if you know your heading out to a heavy meal afterwards. I call ... ...even though they have rice parcels. The count is a total of 8gms of carbs which is fantastic for carb watchers. It heats up pretty fast (I use the microwave as well for 1 a minute and a half) and its fun to slurp the parcels when they break open. Enjoy!!! ...
