Bodum 5670

Prior to using the Bodum grinder I had a Gaggia grinder that tunred out to be the biggest waste of cash ever. That model cost £70 so when it struggled to grind even the smallest amount of beans in less than 10 ...
...I opted for the Bodum because it was £20 and I had seen a few good reviews of its performance.

A little bigger than my Gaggia grinder at 28 x 23 x 20cm it isn’t huge and is about the same size as regular filter coffee makers.

Loading and using the Bodum is easy. The beans are placed in the top section, one of 3 grinding speeds is selected and away you go with the ground coffee collected in a separate bin.

As far as its sole purpose in life goes the Bodum is fantastic in terms of performance. A full jar of beans can be ground to a fine powder in less than 5 minutes and that is starting on the slowest setting and gradually moving up to the highest. It grinds coffee beans and it does it in super quick time which is good.

Cleaning is a problem. While the main sections of the grinder come apart and can be removed easily for washing, unless they are completely dry when replaced and the machine used again the internal workings become clogged up with coffee which if allowed to dry is a real pain to remove. I use a hairdryer on the grinding wheel and the bean holder now to make sure there is no moisture before putting it back together.

£50 cheaper than my Gaggia and a hundred times better. Ideal for my use and can’t see any reason for anyone to spend more than they need to when you can have this model.
