~~First Impressions~~
The packaging for these body butters was quite unique to The Body Shop, however more recently I have noticed copycat versions of this product and packaging. There are several different smells available from The Body Shop, however the ones I am particularly fond of are the Satsuma, mango and strawberry (the one I have chosen to review!) - all of which are in lovely bright and distinctive packaging.
~~Price~~
This is the one downside to The Body Shop products in general, they are quite pricey. However in my opinion it is worth the price, I have tried many of the cheaper versions and they don't even compare. The Body Butters are available in two different sizes, the 50ml tub costs £4 and the 200ml ones are £10 - I would definitely recommend getting the bigger tub! There are quite often special offers on for multiple purchases, however obviously this depends on the promotions at the time.
~~The Packaging~~
The Strawberry Body Butter comes in a red tub (funnily enough in order to match the actual colour of the fruit it is supposed to smell of). It a very simple design with a screw top lid, on top of the lid there is a sticker - again this is in theme with the Strawberry product. The sticker has real images of the fruit, on top of which all the essential information - such as name, ingredients, weight and of course The Body Shop logo. I find the packaging to be very eye catching and pleasing to the eye - obviously The Body Shops intention!
~~The Product~~
All I can say about the smells is....WOW!! I know people have said this before, but they really do smell absolutely gorgeous - almost good enough to eat! What I like most is that you can still smell the fruity smells throughout the day after having put the butter on. As I said before Strawberry and Satsuma are among my favourite, it almost feels like you can smell the juices from a real piece of fruit. The strawberry butter has a red tinge to it (again in theme with the strawberries), and whilst it smells quite sweet, it really does smell of a real fruit (strawberry of course!)All the butters state that they are for 'normal' skin, however I suffer from very dry skin and at times severe eczema and find these products great. They claim to continue moisturising your skin up to 24hours after application - and I have to say I can still feel them working by the end of the day. The actual butter is lovely and creamy and rubs really well into the skin without leaving you feeling greasy.
~~The Body Shop Values~~
I thought it would be good to quickly mention another reason why I am a fan of The Body Shop - and this is down to their values. They are completely against animal testing, and they source their products responsibly through community trading - its always nice to know that your helping other people in some way!
Overall I definitely think the extra cost is worth the product, obviously if you are using the product everyday it can work out very expensive therefore this product is usually just a treat for me!
Advantages: Smells lovely, and it works Disadvantages: Expensive
With summer quickly approaching and the threat of exposed legs, feet and arms I realised with shock what a winter of wearing jeans and long tops has done to me! My skin looks dry and horribly in need of some TLC. I haven't been into the Body Shop for ages. I knew that they had remodelled themselves, and had also heard that they were trying to address the fact that the large majority of their sales occur over a couple of weeks around Christmas time. ... ...people to join up, because the whole reason I was in the shop was because I don't look as if I love my body. Anyway joining this club gave me 10 per cent off all purchases, a free gift if I spent a qualifying amount and further discounts throughout the year.
As I was filing the membership form in I started to talk to the sales lady about my yucky dry skin, and she led me over to the Body Butter products. There was a super choice of different Body ...

...never think of things on the spur of the moment! And you always end up getting surprises which you didn't really want!
But last Christmas I received a classy bag from Body Shop containing lots of Strawberry goodies. As my usual body lotion was nearly finished I decided to look in my bag. Body Butter! I opened the tub and released the most wonderful smell of fresh strawberries. Reading the accompanying leaflet I was even more impressed with Body ... ...appropriate to mention.
Firstly the Body Butter :-
My pot contains 50 mls, round and deep dull red in colour, with a label showing juicy strawberries on top. It states that it is Strawberry Body butter, I believe there are alternative flavours- flavours? Believe me, you really want to eat this as it smells like food! It also states it is made using strawberry seed oil to moisturise normal skin. This provides omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that ...

Advantages: The smell stays on your body, but isn't overpowering. Disadvantages: None! It's great.
I've known the Body Shop body butters range smell nice, everytime I've been in The Body Shop I always like to sniff them, however I've never bought one before because I don't often use a body lotion as the skin on my body isn't particularly dry or anything. I recently got a free gift when I spent over £25 in the Body Shop and inside the gift was a free 50ml tub of the Strawberry Body Butter, so I finally own one! This Body Butter comes in a lovely ... ...types of skin for example the Coconut Body Butter is aimed at dry skin. As soon as you open this tub up the smell of strawberries hits you. It reminds me of strawberry yoghurt or milkshake and is nice and sweet. If you're not one for fruity smells then I really wouldn't recommend this to you! The body butter itself feels very much like butter, it's not a runny lotion but it's also not hard to scoop out of the tub and rub onto your skin. I use quite ...

Advantages: leaves your skin soft smooth and smelling of strawberries Disadvantages: slightly expensive but worth the money
...and so far this is the only thing I have used. It's a 12m container and has 50ml of this divine strawberry body butter inside, fitting perfectly into any overnight bag when required. Like most girls, I get dry skin at times and so using this helps to prevented dead, flaky skin occurring especially with summer round the corner drying our skin up. ****The body shop****

Advantages: easily abosrbed adding instant moisture. Disadvantages: the scent can ware off quickly.
...am an avid fan of the body shop so many of my reviews are based on The Body shop and their products. So sorry to disappoint you but this is yet another body shop review.
I recently reviewed the body shops Satsuma body butter and I was less than impressed with it, so today I had a wonder around my local body shop to replace the Satsuma butter as I will never use again. I have now purchased the body shops strawberry butter.
I explained to the sales ... ...but not as overpowering as the Satsuma.
STRAWBERRY BUTTER
This body butter itself is designed for normal skin types, it is an intensive moisturiser that can be used on the face, hands and body. This is a thick pinkish cream that offers all over moisture to the body.
The cream itself is very easy to apply, unlike the Satsuma body butter this strawberry butter can be applied thickly as the smell isn't as over powering as the Satsuma butter, there ...

Advantages: Smells wonderful, moisturizing for me? Disadvantages: ? but might not be moisturizing enough for some people, and a little sticky
wonderful, fruity scents that might be one of the most important things that will attract you to this product. Some of these lip balms TASTE good as well, and they certainly MOISTURIZE your lips adding a nice GLOSS to them as well. But, this product can be STICKY: if it is windy and you apply it and go out immediately, and especially if you have long hair, yet it dries quickly.

1- Mango Peach (orange): This one is very moisturizing; I like to use it before I go to sleep. However, unfortunately, it does not taste good. 9/10
2- Strawberry (red): I bought this one to use it with the other BodyShopstrawberry products I have (body polish + bodybutter). It smells nice but not yummy like the other products; it?s fine but not special in any way. 7/10
3- Raspberry (pink): It smells yummy and it tastes good too. 10/10

Advantages: Light, absorbs almost instantly and smoothes skin. Disadvantages: Doesn't smell of real strawberries!
last a little while. It isn't that strong that someone walking past would notice or anything like that, just a subtle hint when you put your nose next to your skin. Makes you smell as edible as the lotion itself!
Never having used one of their Body Purees before I am now really keen to try more, I hadn't realised just how nice they would be. If you find body lotions and butters too heavy then these are for you, they moisturise without any greasiness and also without the need to wait around while they sink in!
I highly recommend giving this a try and if the strawberry scent isn't for you then try one of the others they do. They also do Papaya, Pomegranate, Spa Wisdom, Pink Grapefruit, Japanese Cherry Blossom and Satsuma Puree Body Lotions.
The BodyShop do a range of products in this scent so if you like to layer products to get ...
Advantages: A rich and moisturising Body Butter Disadvantages: Bulky Tub
The BodyShop Almond BodyButter. I Have to say I have tried quite a few of the BodyShopBodyButter's and so far hands-down this is my favourite one! And because this one was in the Sale too-I couldn't resist it's charm!
Price: I purchased this product (200ml tub) for £6.25 in the Sale. This one is usually £12.50 so that is a very good price! All of the BodyButters can be bought online at: www.thebodyshop.co.uk as either a 'taster' tube of 50ml usually for around £5.00 if not in the sale and the full price as above (for a 200ml tub). This product will last me months so it's a good investment.
The BodyShopBodyButters: Including my purchase, The BodyShop sell so many delicious BodyButters, they include:
Japanese Cherry Blossom
Peach
Cocoa Butter
Coconut
Mango
Strawberry
Brazil Nut
Wild cherry
Hemp
Pomegranate ...
